I used to volunteer at the Grand Canyon every Summer and spend two weeks patrolling; helping hikers get back out, escort them to Phantom Ranch, offer medical aid, etc. Its a full time volunteer position. People underestimate how much those trails mess up your legs. Even hiking down really messes with some experienced hikers because most people aren't adjusted to using their legs on a downhill slope for that long. We also did a lot of trash collecting. Who would've guessed a giant hole in the ground would have a tendency to get trash blown into it from miles away?

I learned years ago that if you want items from the room, just ask at the front desk and they will sell them to you. A relative loved a hotel mattress once, and they gave her info about where to buy one. She used it for years. I still have a set of beautiful glasses from Holiday Inn, back when they were real glass. They only cost me $2 each! Re the goat, depends on what your city allows. You don't need that much room, but you need it secure because they can jump and climb anything.

I flew with my cousin out of the little airport in Calhoun when he was going to Chattanooga for his Pilot training lessons. I am not sure if I said that right. He was already licensed to fly. He wanted to be and is a commercial pilot. The men that worked in the tower at the Chattanooga airport were so funny and awesome, but we had to stay in Chattanooga for a while because he was practicing stalls during the lesson. Although I have never experienced air sickness any other time, the stalls did a number on me and I was a tiny bit green by the end. I was happy for a smooth quiet flight back to Calhoun. He threatened another stall as a joke and I theatened to kill him LOL!

Must be an Atlanta thing. I’ve never seen a theft price list. And I stayed in hotels when I drove from SF to PA. Flying wipes me out. I eat, take a nap, then take a walk before bed.
