A long video but an excellent view of the entire island. I was fortunately to have a friend take me on a wonderful flight around the island and he mounted his GoPro on the wing and gave me the footage. Some very slight editing and added music. Thanks for the beautiful flight around the island. This is my favorite place to go and I have been there over 32 times (I lost count after that) The only thing I wish you had done was to tell us what part of the island we were looking at. Otherwise, it was beautiful. Each time I have been there, I take pictures coming in and leaving, from the plane. I have stayed many places on the island, but St. Georges is my favorite little place. I feel at home there and even the little men who sit on the park benches, drinking whatever, got to know me over time.

THank you Joyce, if you want to have some fun, pull up Google maps and follow along and pause the video from time to time to determine where you are at. Pretty easy, we started at the airport, then runs down the south shore and around the island. Cheers.

@@ScottCrouse Thanks Scott, I will try that. I have been on the google map so many times, trying to see just where places are that I have stayed in, so I think I can do that.

When I was just a young boy my US Air Force father was stationed there from 1953-55. Thanks for bringing back a bunch of memories.

On take off, at about the 1 min 50 sec mark, on the right had side you could see the little league diamond and softball field ( the softball field also doubled as the little league football field use to be) when it was Kindley AFB was there, they were there in the 1960's. They were still there at the time this video was shot.. In the clump of trees between the runway and the ball fields you can see the old foundation for what use to be the base commanders house back in the 1960's.

many of the buildings and facilities at the old Kindley base are still standing and are used by the community still. But most of the residences were all leveled many years ago after the station closed.
