You will probably go down in history as being one of the very few that ever flew Bonza, because surely they can’t prosper much longer especially as now Air Nauru have withdrawn aircraft leasing arrangements with them .
@Aviation7633 ай бұрын
Yeah, unfortunate it seems you’re correct as Bonza entered voluntarily administration.

Great review Hugo, until you pointed it out in this video I didn't realise you can now book on the website which is a great development! With pax loads this low however I do worry for the airline's future though, hopefully Bonza can find a way to hold out in the market long term!

here after they went into volunatary adminstration, quite sad bonza had an amazing fleet filled with new maxs when compared to many of australias other airlines having inconsitences and plane swaps such as jetstar where you could go from a brand new a321neo to a tiny packed a320 within a matter of hours was where bonza truly shined, i have flown on them 3 times to date which they were really comfortable and nice but sadly during their 1 year sale i booked a holiday to Gold coast from mel including hotels with them for june. i wonder what the next steps are hopinig i can still fly on this fantastic airline. great review mate been watching since 2022 and its great to see how far youve grown. keep it up :)

In hindsight it was their fleet that partially killed them. Some of the routes they did were never going to have enough demand to fill a max several times a week

@@TheHobartAviationFan Yes, the ASK of Bonza 737 is too high for Bonza routes. Maybe an Embraer E190 for 108 pax is good for Bonza!!!

Such a shame to see Bonza folding up. For us here on the Sunshine Coast it was the first time ever that we had a regular airline service flying north to Rocky, Makay, Townsville, Proserpine and cairns. The other 3, Virgin, Qantas and Jetstar only flew south. I know Alliance had a go at it for a while but pulled out after a couple of month. Looks like it's back to the old days of travelling South to Brisbane airport before we can go north again.

I think you nailed the problem for Bonza. The 7M8 is waaaaay too big for many of the routes they're trying to make work - such as to Towoomba (there's a reason QF only fly a Dashie in there). It's great you got super low fares to enjoy the experience, but that kind of thing just isn't sustainable longer term. Some routes they probably do OK on, but there are others - like this one - that surely can't last long. Now you're getting (in)famoys like Noel and maybe Mr Coathanger - watch out! 😅

The problem of Bonza is Boeing 737!!! The ASK of Boeing 737 or A320 is too high for Bonza Routes and with this ASK the Load Factor is low. And the operation in Sydney and Brisbane? Is necessary!!! For example: Toowoomba is near Brisbane, but you not take pax of another airlines who fly international to Brisbane to carry for other cities!!! When Emirates buy tickets Dubai to Rockhampton, exist other airline who make a code share (Qantas) and this pax make a layover in Brisbane. (Example). To fly with Load Factor 70% you need 126 pax on 737-8 and 76 pax on Embraer E190 (108 pax) The Allan Joyce said on Australian Aviation: Where the Boeing 737 is big the Embraer E190 is perfect!!!
@Aviation7633 ай бұрын

It sounds like Bonza dealt with every single setback they could've gotten. The 2020 situation, delayed delivery, a lot of uhm "boeing things" that were certain to have cost money in inspection and repairs, and then finally just not being able to operate at capacity when you finally need it, because you simply don't have enough jets. Considering your cabin, like many other bonza flights, was quite empty, it seems they're already struggling to attract travellers. So basically, I don't think Bonza is doing so bon...za 😅 Yeah I'll see myself out.

I think bonza won't last long term...... Its will need to do some of the triangle routes (Such as syd-mel-brisbane) or even do perth to east coast/adelade or darwin to survive as doing regional jaunts won't be enough to last them particularity on the 737 (and max which many people doubt). Theres a reason why our legacy airlines aren't using 737 on regional routes...... and bonza will give that example to the legacy airlines if they don't change their ways....
