Today I want to enjoy the beautiful, sunny weather we have here in Sonoma County. I also want (or maybe need) to resupply my dwindling coffee stash. First we headed to Healdsburg and bought some bread at Costeaux French Bakery. Then we walked down to Flying Goats Coffee. Flying Goats is a superb local coffee roaster. I can’t recommend them enough as they have great service and some of the best coffee in the county.
After that we headed out to take a walk Badger Park which sits along the Russian River.

Buenos días, Scott! Just a quick tip from Spain: if you want a more natural way of cleaning your teeth / mouth, try to use bakingsoda with a little bit of coconut oil (mix it until it becomes a paste). Works perfectly. We stopped using toothpaste years ago due to all the chemicals (plus it's cheaper). 🙏 Have a nice day & keep up your awesome content! ✌️♥️ Saludos from May

Yes that would have been a very long brew. My favorite one was the time I forgot to put the filter cap on then turned it over to put on the coffee cup, that made quite a mess.

Hello Scott, I'm always excited to see you have recorded a new video. Smart wool bands and premium coffee. Your living a good life. I like the scenic drives and walks that you take us along because I will probably not ever see those places without you. I seem to get a flare of energy when the weather shifts to spring temperatures and light winds. Your adept at finding parking spots that support your lifestyle. I haven't parked st libraries for a night but have napped there during the day. I frequently drive at night and then sleep mornings. I have worked nights for years and still am still wired that way. Here I am watching you prepping and cooking your burrito. It's interesting how methodical you are . Salt light must be on and coffee made perfectly. I like sugar crisp apples and also fugi which I can get here. No flying goat coffee here so it seems to be a west coast product. I think it's possible to over plan. I like you try to be organized and have a system to do things efficiently. It does give rise to retracing my steps when things don't work out as planned. I have to say to myself....does it really matter? In the bigger picture my daily routine doesn't call for a lot of lofty ideals. I'm trying to simplify my processes and achieve the same amount if satisfaction. I'm not chasing things as hard now. Did you find a greater sense of happiness doing more with less? ❤

I wasn’t parked at the library. I was parked on the street next to it. I never park on private property unless I have written permission from the property owner. Flying Goat Coffee has only two locations, both in Healdsburg. Yes, the simpler everything is the happier I am.

If you don’t touch cheese with your fingers it will last longer as, just a friendly tip, otherwise it will have a chance to Mold faster just hold it with the plastic wrapper 😊 🧀

Hi Scott, Thanks for sharing your 'hints' of Spring day- very pretty views. So glad you were able to find a super premium and delicious coffee along with your favorite sourdough. We have a local person who bakes fresh sourdough every Friday - nothing better than fresh sourdough (toasted for me) and fresh coffee. Forgot to mention last time- love the ambiance of the salt lamp! My friend owns lots of goats in Guernville and I thought maybe some of them got loose! 😆 We go to the Russian River twice a year. Occidental in December and Monte Rio in the summer. Love all the towns on the River! Here's a good tip, keep some magnesium oil spray on hand and spray the bottom of your feet then rub them together. Magnesium helps you sleep and gets in your system faster than orally. You can buy it at Whole Foods. Also, Pt. Reyes Cheese is very tasty!

You have a soothing voice Scott and a nice delivery when speaking that keeps a rhythm. Perfect for doing this stuff. Trying to catch up with some older vids too as I guess you’ve been doing this awhile. My voice is kind of annoying so even thou I’d like to make a video log I don’t know if listeners might get annoyed! 🤣🤣 I do LOVE to talk it up thou. My Dad had a similar voice as you and a kind of a lilt. It was always a pleasure to hear him converse as he was always interesting and usu happy. I do miss that voice.

Healdsburg is where I bought my camper van conversion. A partial build. I’m almost ready to hit the road (now 5 months later) I had to liquidate, changed my lifestyle and this will be my retirement. Maybe I’ll see you out there. Another great video, Scott. Thank you.

Forget about the paper filters for the aero press go with the stainless screen it’ll always let the oils flow right into the cup. It’s so much better and they’re completely reusable forever.

I think when you use the filters over and over again it clogs up and then you might risk the blow out. But I really get a good cup of coffee with the aero press.

I use to take a baking class and we made homemade croissants once, it is kind of a long process but the end result was soooooo goooodd and buttery, it was just soooooo good. Oh and homemade caramel is to die for.

I have a funny memory of the Russian River. I was 14 or 15 years old on a 50-mile canoe trip with a group of scouts. We paddled past a nudist camp and had a guy swim out, grab our canoe, and ask us if we were cool (to make sure we didn't have cameras).

Would not surprise me if the slab in the river was part of the highway that slid into the river with the big quake in the 60s! Ours was the last car (mom driving) that went over the hwy we felt a huge bump and road slid into river of course they then shut it down

Aloha the big square of cement in the river? My guess is that it was the center support from a bridge crossing that was flooded out in the past .records from major flooding that have occurred over and over in the past about two times a decade.glad you are enjoying Sonoma County. Things to check out// see Sugar loaf state park, Jack London park, Sonoma mission (farrest north on mission trail) all are free IF you go to Sonoma library and check out a3 week pass for free to get a card all you need is a ID. My local roaster has been out of commission due to some kind of construction work for over a week now and so I’m having to settle on other brands of coffee. Quite the dilemma. WM has a brand called Jubilee coffee roasters and they are out of Denver. I just opened up a new bag of the Ethiopian. One level scoop in the aero. Water not boiling. Very smooth and good for a $13 bag of coffee (10oz) not cheap but not over the top either.

the reason I bought the van that is my avatar picture is because I fluked my way into having 5 dogs like 10 years ago. A roomate ditched a couple on me, a neighbor went to the nursing home and the paramedics brought me her dog etc. 1 of the 5 dogs was geriatric and another was diabetic, so they were sort of a ball and chain tying me to the house. But having a van meant I could go visit friends or do things and bring them all. Dogs are the best.

Healdsburg is a beautiful city. You should try walking just beyond the town square where all the shops are and you’ll be treated to a variety of beautiful homes and gardens in the surrounding neighborhood.

Btw, been washing with baking soda, bentonite clay and charcoal powder mix I make since 2009. Went to dentist was amazed to find next to null. M filling had fallen out (of20yrs) popped out and it healed with this way clng. Just thought I'd share😁

Arkansas Black apples? Those are my favorites too!! There is an apple grower near where I live which is where I discovered them a few years ago. The flavor from year to year has seemed to not be consistent. But, when the year has been good, the tart sweetness and texture of an Arkansas Black is amazing. Every bite of that apple just tastes better and better. Yup! Best apple ever.

Im really enjoying your videos. Such a beautiful area. It’s nice that you were made to feel so welcome to their community. Your burritos make me want eggs. I’ve not been eating them as often, For some reason. I miss having chickens, just the best orange yolks. No comparison to the taste of fresh eggs.

I started watching your videos from Wales, UK 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. It's rained here virtually every day this year. I can't imagine coping with living in a van if it's raining a lot. Must be tough.

i checked satellite view and found the concrete thing in the middle of the river. The shot was taken when the river was a lot lower and I can see there are openings on the upstream and downstream sides. I think it might be a water intake, possibly for the gravel operation on the other side of the river.

Oh cool. A local lady said that the concrete pad is usually much more visible but the water level is a bit higher than normal now.

@@StaticCamperVanThe water level is really high. I kept saying that to myself as I was watching the video. Russian River overflows a lot and floods a couple of towns along the river. Poor Greenville gets flooded a lot.
