I was 10 years old. All I read was Science Fiction and comic books that sold for .10 cents. Disney took me into Outer Space ! I’ll never forget the Awe I felt when I saw these ! It still gives me a tingle when I see it again today. Von Braun was the genius that explained , in simple language , how all this was going to work. We could have done all this if it wasn’t for the Cold War .

This was the year my family first visited Disneyland. I was only four but remember it pretty well.

Actually quite glad I got to ride on the SECOND version of the classic doomed ride, the equally doomed Luigi’s Flying Tires...it wasn’t the most successful ride, but it was fun and different, and it’s a bit sad they STILL couldn’t get it to work!

Remember seeing them on our family's first trip to Disneyland in 1964. We did not go on them and they were soon gone.

At 3:52, you state "And by its eighth anniversary, Disneyland has welcomed 25 million people through the gates"... but surely they reckoned anniversaries from the day the gates opened in 1955. So if this is the year 1961, wouldn't they have been celebrating their SIXTH anniversary?

I was confused by this as well. He seems very retry well informed, yet doesn’t know when the park opened? Hmm.
