Join me with STOL Competitor, Warren G, in his 1955 Cessna 180! We fly a few laps at a private grass strip in South Florida as Warren shows me a little bit from behind the scenes of what goes on during a STOL competition.

Really cool. I love the 180. It’s nice to see such smooth landings. They should add Bonus points for the touchdown in competition. Some of the STOL landings look more like crashes.

Maybe a fuel tank in the right footwell could improve CG and balance in competition.

I didn't know about the STOL flap configuration to v1 getting ground speed. Shortening the cord length of the wing, reaching minimum airflow for lift? Also the Johnson v electrical motor: just gets the flap to the position quicker? Are the brakes disc cable activated? 🪃🌏

I was amazed when I learned this too. Even in STOL Competition in Sim this is so important.
