The airport you spotted is Harstad/Narvik, Evenes. Wideroe does not fly to Svalbard. The turboprop you saw was the "mail plane" operated by West Air or Sprint Air. They have recently changed operator for mail by air transport, so I'm not sure who flies the route now..

You're correct. I was actually confused as to why Wideroe had a check in desk at Longyearbyen then.
