👋🏼 Welcome to our Scotland travel day as we fly to the World's most beautiful country.
Join us as we spend the night in the Ibis Heathrow Hotel before starting our travel day with our first ever experience using the Heathrow Pod Parking, apparently it's the future of travel! Once through airport security (now that's a story), we chill out in Heathrow Terminal 5 before boarding our British Airways flight to Aberdeen!
This is one of the smoothest flight experiences we have ever had (except the small issue of an aborted landing) and the car rental experience is even smoother! Soon we are driving our way across Scotland from Aberdeen International Airport down to the beautiful city of Dundee to begin our Scottish adventure.

Scotland it's like a big love of mine, Ive never been but i love geography and i just love this country specifically. Way too much, so the title made me tear up a bit. Here in my country the economy isnt the best so Booking a trip there, is nearly imposible for me, so i'll love vicariously through you all, thanks for uploading

Having flown domestically hundreds of times for work it's a sure fire way to make you never want to see an airport again. Late flights incoming from Europe meaning your evening flight home is delayed and your long week just got longer. Annoying holiday makers setting off the security alarms because they can't empty their pockets, creating big queues in the holiday season. Arriving on a Friday and finding systems are down and you're not going to get home until Saturday or Sunday before flying back again Monday. Travelling in business attire when it's 38C at Heathrow. Screaming babies in the row behind you on the 06:15 flight on a Monday morning going to work. And yes, I am a grumpy old b****** but regular commuting by air makes you that way. The Scottish Highlands and Islands are fabulous though and I've spent more than 70 weeks exploring them.

You lads need to get a kilt to wear , on your adventures in Scotland 🏴. They have very good ventilation, be sure not wear your pants ( the traditional way) , and you may blend in with the locals. 😉

Given how windy it was while we were there that may not have been a good idea 😂 we did eat haggis and drink Irn Bru though 🤷🏻♂️

Going to london regularly from Edinburgh and I find taking the train is usually the best and cheaper way to do it. You do'nt have to go all the way to the airport and wait an hour or so there. it may take a bit longer, but in the end, it balances out as you're going from city centre to city centre

Yes. It's even the same if you visit the Channel Islands from mainland UK. No passport needed.

We liked the Ibis, the restaurant and bar area had a very relaxed vibe although overall out of the ones we have stayed in we would probably say Renaissance has been our favourite room so far but it tends to be more expensive. Ibis is a solid choice though and we’d stay again for the right price.

Interesting to see them pods but what if the car park is busy you won't squeeze many in them 😆

There are 2 pod stations in the car park and they are on demand so there are lots on the network ready to become available. The car park doesn’t have the same capacity as some of the bigger ones served by buses either (plus it’s more expensive so that probably keeps demand down 😂)

You could have taken Scotlands airline Loganair direct to Dundee from Heathrow.

We didn’t realise that until we drove by Dundee airport and looked up where flights go to / come from. The package with BA including car was cheaper anyway so we didn’t feel too aggrieved.

Ah we see, only the blonde roast though if we are having an americano. Hot Pret coffee is gross but agreed the Starbucks house blend isn’t great either. We’d rather every airport had a Black Sheep instead!

Why would you need a passport when you’re not leaving the country (the country being the UK of course)? The reality is that Scotland is no more than a semi autonomous state within the country of the UK. There’s enough misinformation on the internet as it is so please don’t participate in promulgating the idea that Scotland is some how different or apart from the rest of the UK!

We didn’t provide any misinformation. We simply said it was weird for us to be boarding a flight without needing a passport and explained you don’t need a passport for domestic flights within the UK but you do need valid photographic identification of which a passport is one of the accepted forms. All factually correct as stated.
