My family goes to knoebels every year, and I can say that this is one of the safest and most entertaining rides I’ve been on in a while. So much fun

The great thing about this, is the free rolling feeling. Honestly, everytime I ride this, I giggle the whole time. It just feels that uniquely fun. It only tops out at 35mph, but it just free flows so fun.

This is LITERALLY a roller coaster that COMES OFF THE TRACK. Take that to bed with you.

That ride is a work of art. Simply beautiful. I love the simplicity of the track to tube transitions. Looks relatively smooth too.

Used to ride the Flying Turns at Euclid Beach. That was the highest ride in the park and wild! This looks really fun too.

I like how energetic and happy this guy sounds, it makes the video more dramatic, fun, and silly, instead of dull with no commentary. Nice video, even it's 3 years old.

Went to this park so many times as a kid, teenager, and even an adult. They still were building this thing every single time I went and now I see that it was done 5 years ago?? It's been 10 years at least that they've been working on this. Surprised to see it done

The ride is a lot of fun but man is it a pain to maintain and operate. If you go to Knoebels get on the Flying Turns first because the wait can be excruciating. Dispatch takes forever and they often have to run safety checks. Even years later they're still working bugs out of it which is to be expected but still, get on this one early.

I don't typically like roller coasters but this looks like tremendous fun.

Guests are saying Wooden Bobsled Roller Coaster is too cheap, consider raising the price.

I went to Knoebel's for the first time 3 weeks ago w/family and this rollercoaster was fun. My niece and I went on it twice. We loved it. I hope to visit the park again next summer. Great amusement park in Pennsylvania.

I was on this ride and it's very fun! When it flies up on the sides it does give you the feeling of it going to tip over or you falling out. Great coaster!

When I was a kid they had one of these in Coney Island it was called the bobsled, adding to this post, never had any deaths used to ride it all the time as a kid however the cyclone had a total of 3 deaths it's still open to this day. However the bobsled burnt down one day. Was never rebuilt. Adding on one more time, found out that the original bobsled was shown in 1939 at the World's Fair before the one that was built in Coney Island. Unsure if it was the same one that was moved or a rebuilt that I don't know but I loved it.😷

Flying Turns original from 1933 Chicago world fair, then moved to Riverview park til 1967. a blast to ride!

I am a senior roller coaster junkie and I would loooove to try this, sitting in the back of course. Yes it might be too slow but those banks look amazing.

yes, i am here because of RCT. i never really understood as a kid what bobsled really meant so i would only place the prebuilt rides. growing up i got a lot better at rollercoaster building but would still fail at these types so again with the prebuilts. this video has finally finally shed some light. might go find my copy and play again ! this kind of ride actually looks fun !

I live about an hour away from Knobles and I remember going on this roller coaster a few years ago ( probably when I was 10 or something) but I don’t remember the roller coaster feeling as dangerous as it looks in the video. It wasn’t actually too scary tbh and that’s coming from someone who’s not the biggest fan of roller coasters But then line was the longest I ever saw so if you ever want to try this ride be prepared to wait in a line for half an hour or more, just like I did 😊

So, from your description, this was the way coasters used to be? As in, before rails and powered lifts, basically wooden-frame bobsleds? I did not know that. I like this "hybrid" idea; it seems that with today's computers to resolve the physics this could be a really cool method of constructing future coasters that are just as safe as modern "grip-the-rails" machines but more "scary" in that you're sort of flying free... I'd like to see more of these. :-D

I use to work in maintenance at Kings Dominion in Va. I love the wooden coasters hands down. its almost like they are alive.

Oh my god I went on this ride 2 days ago

Euclid Beach Amusement Park , had the Flying turns ride years ago . The Park closed down in 1969 , a free admission Park. If you want to look for videos of Euclid Beach Park on you tube . Riding the flying turns ride there was a bit faster without the slowing down or brake system . The ride would climb the wall and sling back the opposite side as it travel downward . Great ride , very long lines . These slight imitations of the Flying Turns are ok , but by watching the videos it just seems it’s missing a little more speed . But it’s still a great ride , maybe I can make it to pa sometime to try for myself .
