Wow,..the Real Deal! I have heard more than 1000 people impersonate Lorne Michaels, all of them former SNL writers, actors and comedians. The guy is a legend. Its weird hearing him, in person, actually talking.

@@rinnypinkWell if you think about it,....an impersonation of Lorne, does kind of sound like the impersonations of Ed Sullivan. I never thought of it until now. Both gentlemen had unusual voices, easily impersonated.

So interesting to actually hear Lorne speak when all we've ever heard are impressions of him. And like Dana has said many, many times: often the best impressions are not those that only mimic, but they sort of become exaggerations of the voice itself. Dana's impression of George HW Bush mirrors his sound, but it goes beyond it, twists it, exaggerates it and makes it really, really funny. "Na ga do that." Same is true of Dana's impression of Lorne, which sounds something like him, but is more pretentious and exaggerated than his actual voice. That's the genius of Dana.

I don't think I ever even saw an hour long interview of him ever. I really don't know the guy outside the stories and impressions every generation of cast members do of him. I found him really likable and unique. Even when it stared I thought, wtf he sounds like a normal guy sitting at a table and seeing a bag of hot cheetos and going "yeah, I'm going in!". @allendracabal0819
@allendracabal0819 9 ай бұрын
Move to LA, New York, or Chicago, join a notable improv group, work hard, network, and schmooze. Or, take the much easier way and start a YT channel and post a series of short clips showcasing your range of talent, and try to attract an audience. If you truly have outstanding talent, the first option is better because of the networking and exposure opportunities. It's hard to get noticed on YT as there is so much content to compete with. 34 is not too old, but on the cusp, so get going soon. It's less painful to take a chance on something like this when you are young and ignorant, but if you have talent and determination, and refuse to give up, you may have a chance.

This truly comes from love. You were given one in million interview here with Lorne……HE IS THE GOLD……count how many words he spoke vs. you two. Do on every interview……..it’s a great gold standard…..try it with Howard Stern….only enough words to loosen guest up.
