You should watch a few more videos. Obstacle avoidance seems to be better on the mini 3 pro because of how the front sensors are positioned 👍 I’m keeping my mini 3 pro until the mini 5

The tracking with close far drawing is amazing, as in omnidirectional sensors 💚 A bummer they didn’t just include 120 fps slow motion though.

My current solution is the Air 2s however I bought the RC controller. The problem is the RC isn't able to transfer video or pictures other than using Bluetooth and it's slow. How is the transfer process. BTW also a Tesla 23 MYP owner. Loved your videos when you had your delivery day.

I have a Magic Air 2s, which has the 1” sensor that I love, but lacks the side sensors. I think piece of mind when flying is more important than visuals, especially when using focus track. With that said, do you think it’s worth upgrading to Mini 4 Pro. I do a lot of aerial videos especially in sports and live on the east coast of the US. I have lots of great views of the Statue of Liberty and NYC skyline that I like to film. I would hate to sacrifice video quality, but don’t know what I’m losing in that particular category if I chose to go with mini 4 pro. Please help!

I’m sorry but the only change that is worth it is the obstacle avoidance. However it’s not worth the money. The mini 3 pro is still running strong. I will skip the 4 pro, and wait for a significant video capturing upgrade.

We got the AR Homepoint stuff on Air 3 today. For some ODD REASON, the pulses in the RTH Green tube overlay were left out. No pulses? I thought that's onky Mavic 3, but nope. MINI 4 PRO has them. What's up DJI?

I wish DJI would be less stingy and give M3P the general waypoints ability as well, since it's already available in hyperlapse but has to be entered to reach each point and then exited for other modes. No reason it can't be added other than to entice people for the M4P, which won't even take the same expensive filters for the same size camera.

ocusync 4 is a big upgrade for mini 4 that greatly separate it from mini 3..plus omni directional sensing

I never fly farther than 3 miles, so I don’t think its an huge upgrade, it goes really far already, only the battery life is limiting it to fly farther….

I loved DJI for years but man it is hard today. Mini 1 was 500$ for Fly More Combo with 3 baterries and a hard case. Now you have to pay twice the price for smaller set with soft pouch. I though Mini series was meant to be an affordable series for people who just start and use drone only for family purposes. Now Mini series cost as much as Air series 5 years ago

I hope the new Mini 4 won't have the same issues as the Mini 3 did, particularly when it comes to capturing 48-megapixel images (quad Bayer sensor, not real 48mpix). The problem with sudden disconnections while using the drone was quite frustrating on the Mini 3. In those instances, the drone would hover in place and wouldn't return to its home position. Instead, it would only land at the spot where it lost connection with the remote. This mini 3 had also issues with thermal management. There were also issues with sphere panorama mode, where sometimes it was able to make 2% of the process, and wont make more (only landing and reseting the drone helped). The obstacle avoidance sensors, to be honest, are not entirely reliable when it comes to trees or small obstacles. The manufacturer provides performance specifications for this sensor system based on speed. It's worth acknowledging that DJI knows how to reach into the customers' wallets. Personally, I think I'll stick with my Mini 3 Pro and lean towards purchasing the new DJI Air 4 version if they upgrade the sensor to a larger one.

Mini 4 nettement meilleur que le mini 3..quoiqu’on en dise..essayer le et vous verrez par apport à votre mini 4..le 4 juste quelques minutes d’autonomie afin de garder le droit C02..le mini 5 DJIvas devoir se creuser la tête..amélioration photo?et ou I.A Dans le drone..?what thé question..mais se drone et top surtout avec toute cette technologie embarquée pour un drone de moins de 250 grammes..travailler peut être sur les batteries..bon drone a tous et vive se mini 4 qui vas être la pour un moment👍🥳

So explain this to me, because I can grief on Facebook when I point this out - You have a flying drone. A drone that can go 50mph. Other than a faster background move when you move the drone in an arc, what does that second lens really buy you. Its a telephoto lens, when you can just move the lens closer to get whatever shot you want. Also, the Air 3 and the Mini 4 Pro use the exact same sensor, so what else, besides this telephoto lens are you really getting for the Air 3 (other than weight, cost and regulations). [I was under the impression that the Mini 4 Pro uses the same stacked CMOS sensor as the Air 3, you implied that maybe they didn't?]

Nd filter put it over the 249gram weight to technically no unless you register

@cassijoanna Actually no. Both drones are generally 248 grams. The filters are 0.75 grams. Both of these together is still less than 249g and the limit is 250g. Depending where you are you could even fly at 250g, but 248.75g (filter+drone) is still below 250g so all good.

no, you can't expect a real 48 mpx from such a tiny sensor. The noise level will be immense and the product will be unusable.

I wish there was models of both the DJI mini 3 and DJI mini 4 WITHOUT the vertical shooting feature. I hate the very thought of adding to the stupid tendency of vertical shooting with any purchase that I make. People taking pictures with their Smartphone with vertical orientation should not be allowed to have one. NOBODY - except maybe for programmers - have their screens set up like that.

No it won’t. Rc n1 was designed for O3 and previous. Mini 4 pro uses O4 transmission.

Unfortunatly, that Mini 4 drone is C0 classified in Germany. This means, that it is limited to 120m above STARTPOINT (not ground!!) max height. That’s a real bummer, when you live in the mountains, and you want to follow a ridge… The Mini 3 can go 500m above start! Don’t know, how that’s in the US?! Probably I should import one from overseas?!

Very thorough review, thank you. I've got a Mini 3 Pro and was all set to get the Air 3, mainly because of the 70mm lens, but the Mini 4 Pro is just an awesome upgrade over the Mini 3 Pro (10-bit, HDR in 60fps, waypoints, 360 collision sensors, etc). You can also really see how much better the picture quality is, especially the dynamic range, vs the Mini 3 Pro. I'm actually shocked how many features they packed in the Mini 4 Pro. I'm now thinking of getting the Mini 4 Pro and holding off for the Air 4/Mavic 4. I might miss the Air 3's power and tele lens for a bit.
