there is a special repair set available at dealers. with a new drive shaft and clutch and flywheel.

Hello yes just fitted clutch in one the owner of the car went to the dealer and got the kit for 720.00 the kit was a clutch ,solid flywheel new bearing and a new driveshaft and then he went back for the update think it was 60 pound

@PK Performance it was definitely louder on idle but to be expected with fitting a solid flywheel I think

I just left the dealer like oh well that was waste of time expected them to have come up with something similar to these guys oh well thanks for your help :)

1070rpm is a pretty high hot idle :for a daily driver, but if it helps the SMF and clutch life long term its a small comprimise to make...

ahh this is very interesting... i have a 2003 passat pd100 remapped to 130... im thinking this technique would help me a bit... it idles around 850 aswell but the car shakes a bit when stopped... im wondering now if i bump up the idle in vagedcsuite then itll make it alot nicer... i do find myself blipping the throttle to avoid the mild shaking... i just put it down to it being old ( maybe loose engine mounts or something that the mot dude hadnt picked up on)

I had the dmf fail on my Skoda fabia 1.4tdi. It’s been replaced with a solid flywheel however they were unable to do the idle adjustment. Does anyone know if this is a major issue?

See a lot of cases of these failing DMF being replaced with SMF but causing issues with the idle. Is it a good idea to replace the failed DMF with a new DMF rather than changing to a single? surely a second one would last longer than the factory one they make out of sponge cake.

Great vid guys 👌🏻 my wife has a 2009 1.4tdi polo it's got the typical screach when pulling away but no slipping, it's done 45k, iv been told its not got a dual mass is that correct? Love your vids bought a clutch pack for my 3.0tdi Q5 from yourselves recently to 👍🏻💪🏻

I’ve actually got the same issue and it’s done very low Milege. 2016 1.4tdi. Does any one know if this is a common issue. If it is then shouldn’t vw honour to fix this issue for free..

Seems there was a fair few people with the issue. Unfortunately vw don't offer the replacement for it anymore. It would be nice if they would honour it considering but it's unlikely

Hey i got 2015 skoda fabia 3 combi, that had dmf from the factory, but under the warranty has been replaced to smf, but its loud is it possible to replace it to dmf again? i dont mean the original dmf, but some new dmf that can last?

mine did same, i think it was 0.5 on timing when hot and i havent addressed the timing yet, but after fitting the 02Q shim kit havent heard this having that dodgy idle anymore - hope that is not coming back. i also use some 2stroke oil in diesel that probably also retards the timing a bit but was still having the intermittent noise

Changed it rpm to 900 with obdeleven it sound bether by now changed clutch to sachs one. But shifter now its like hard to i need to calibrate it again?

I did one of these when i was at vw main dealer. They left it that long it knackered the thrustwashers on the crank and killed the engine 🤣 the endfloat was crazy

Focus mk3 1.6 tdci off in tomoz dualmass been like it nearly a month, electric rack has failed £1000 in parts, praying the crank aint fluffed it ive been gentle as i can driving it

@@petemechanic8249 quite common on s3 and other tfsi models that require the clutch to be depressed to start.
