Hello Lumedia family! today we will show you some FM Expressions Heat Transfers. We will explain how and why to use them in your home based tshirt business! If you ever get a large order that requires full color printing and you do not have access to a screen printer, or a DTG printer this is an awesome alternative you can offer you customers! Work smarter not harder and make that money!!

What kind/where did you get your heat press? Do you remember the price? Also, what kind of shirts do you use? Do you think FM Expressions single color transfers would work on a Bella + Canvas 3001?

If you watch my how to get started video I have links to all my equipment. I use GILDAN, Next Level, and Bella Canvas. Yes FM Expressions has transfers that work on just about any material.

I just started using a heat press, I ordered the athletic formula from FM and am impressed with the quality of the transfers. I am having issues with the platten area of the garment discoloring after pressing. Any suggestions??

If it’s leaving a square your pressure might a bit too much.

That's normal. It will revert back after it cools or washes. I think it's cause the air humidity gets steamed out

Can I use an iron with this type of transfer?

As long as your iron can get up to the temperature required yes.

Is it permanent? Or fade away or peel off after a wash?

This is definitely more of a permanent heat transfer. If you watch the video we compare a newly pressed shirt with a shirt that’s been washed atleast 8 times.

Hello! Yes! you are correct! You would need a two color transfer.

I think you can but they charge a setup fee and shipping. This method is good if you are doing bulk printing. Not very good for one offs.

Does vlr liquid work on fm transfers? I only use them but I never tried the vlr on my mistakes from fm. So I was just wondering if the vlr liquid work on fm expression transfers?

What size is that image and what material

Full color plastisol and the size is 10 3/4" x 6 1/8"

It looks shinny, almost like a cheap print that would crack after a few washes. How does it hold out after the washes? I have thought of using F&M but many people say not to use water base transfer. Whats your opinion. Thank you for the video.

While this specific one looks shiny they have a bunch of different options. This specific transfer is the most versatile. So it has ink with a plastisol base. Making it look like that (thick and plasticy). If you watch the video we do a comparison with a fresh pressed shirt and a shirt that’s been washed atleast 8 times. This is plastisol based so if I’m correct it’s not water based (dont know what ink they use for the actual color) but in my experience with this company it’s been great! I am also reviewing monkey prints and transfers soon so stay tuned for that!

@@Lumedia waiting on that monkey prints review, they never got back to me about the sample pack.. and their transfers are more expensive than FM. Looking forward to it

Up For Debate Tv they are a much smaller company. And they off something a bit different that we will be trying in the studio here at home! As for the sampler pack same here never got back, but I’ll still purchase to review!
