I am actually very impressed with the US for what they have done in this war. They trained the Ukrainians for years, provided them with weapons, issued warnings of the invasion very early, implemented tough economic sanctions, and are still providing with weapons and humanitarian aids worth over a billion dollars. This reminds me of the US helping China and Russia and most European countries in WWII, seems a lot of the countries already forgot their history, because without that help they would've lost the war.

Russia is doing "better" in the east than elsewhere mainly because it has had military bases in Donbas and Crimea since 2014. Those positions are supplied and prepared for just what is happening now. It was no secret even in 2014 that Putin wanted the whole stretch of territory from Russia through Donbas to Crimea. It is for this reason alone that Zelensky is completely correct and within his rights to demand Russian departure, ceding NO Ukrainian territory. @@olasylvia1 Keep in mind that Ukraine was a mess politically and socially until 2014 with extremely high levels of corruption and severe conflicts between various ethnic and cultural groups and extremist organisations. It was only when Poroshenko became president the Ukrainian leadership started to get things together and only when Zelenskyy took over in 2019 the progress really started to get momentum. They still had a long way to go by the time Russia invaded. So the west had good reasons to be sceptical of Ukraine. Today we can see that everybody underestimated Ukraine (I think they even did themselves) but hindsight is always 20/20.

Zelenskyy is right, Russia needs to have more pressure put on them gradually. Russia has to understand NATO army superiority, that using tactical nukes will be suicidal for Russian power. Russia needs to fear that if NATO had to intervene that a NATO base will replace the Russian one at Sevastopol and they will be denied to pass through the Black sea. The ICC indictment will take time, but avoids the US appearing to be judge, jury and executioner. Vladolf Putin needs to remember the Serb leaders enjoyed the hospitality of the ICC when traded for sanctions by a later government.

At a time when, in many Western Countries, a strong will for more freedom is expressed: the NATO has managed some kind of a rebirth where the use of weapons and authority is considered indispensable. Can we say that without the will of its Citizens and the supply of weapons from countries, among which America, the actual situation would not be the same! Added to that it has been necessary to protect borders, and this brings to light as well the importance of oil supplies in realities and politics. More surprises and contradictions will certainly come to light when Historic analysis takes over. At this stage and wherever they act rightly or not the Liberals / Democrats should realise how and where relating to the wider picture backfires on many of their decisions!
