Just on player mentoring u don't have to put player in first team if u goto training then units there is a tab u can send players from youth to first team training so your team page isn't clustered👍

Yeah , when sending out on loan check to see the report what type of standard the player is , for example if coach report says sky bet league two player ability . I does loan them a division below , this helps them be better quality that the rest there and will grow quickly , then u can try the level them at . I use to be fast to send to championship level but I have learnt championships football isn't easy , so guys try lower leagues, Belgium , or Scotland, sky bet one and two

Rather than promoting them to the senior team why not just add them to the training units? This will keep them in the U18/U21 and add them to the senior training?

Personally, i create a spreadsheet with all my players (main squad, under 18 etc) and try maintain all 3 squads to make sure the young players coming through get the game time at the right level, then when they are between my reserve squad and first team, thats when loans come into it.

@@jsaville82 Won't that hamper their development? I have been avoiding it because of several reasons: 1. My main team's training regime isn't suited for youth development because there's a lot of off days due to match congestion and it's not really focused on physicality whereas I usually prioritize physicals for my youngsters because I believe they're harder to train the older a player is. 2. I don't take WWY to account when hiring main squad coaches so they tend to be on the lower side (12 or below) compared to youth coaches (17 and above). I don't know whether this has a significant impact on the training or if it's mitigated by the higher coaching attributes of the main coaches (the coaching ratings and workloads on the coach assignments of both squads are mostly the same). 3. Adding to the already scuffed main squad training schedule, if a youngster participates in a match with the reserve, I assume he will be missing on the main squad's training on that match day. I am afraid this will further hamper his development. These points are based on assumptions and I haven't experimented to compare the results of having a youngster stay in the youth team to joining the main squad's training units. Please enlighten me if my assumptions are wrong because I really hope to be able to mentor my youngsters without hampering their development.

Absolutely agree with tip 5, it's how I've done it for years. Theres no point sending a youngster to a club to be Fringe or Squad as they may as well stay at my club and benefit from great facilities and coaches.

About promoting youth players to the first team and able them do play for U18, it is only good if the matchdays in U18 are in the same day that the senior matches, otherwise that youth player will miss an important day of traning of the senior team by going a day to u18 in order to play So, in my opinion if the u18 play at saturday and senior at sunday, i dont think its good to able the youth players to the senior team because they will lose an important day of training

You should not promote the players to main team like that... But you can add them to the senior team training so you can mentor them while they stay in the U18

I think U18 and u21 training should be more technical and physical sessions and less team training ie match tactics and match prep

Is there big difference if I do not loan player but let him play in 3tier in my u23? In bundesliga club can have u23 play in max 3liga. But I have way better facilities than probably all holland first division. What you sugest?

nice video brother,you forgett to talk about player traits and training scedules ,I would be so happy if you can screenshot here best training scedules,I wanna jnow how to prepeare players for good stamina in general(i know some player have by default better (stamina,strengh and natural fitness)but still I would ask for help if possible

Hello. In my save I signing many young players with high potential. Trainings are good, coaches also, we overperforming at the pitch and league table, I give them enough playing time, sometimes I remind them that they must do more in their development, but most of them don't develop good enough and soon lose from their potential. Can somebody tell me why this happen an what I must do in this case.

My issue with mentoring is even tho you make them available for the U18 or whatever youth team you may have they are now training in your senior team, for me my senior team and my youth team training very differently so i want him to be getting the specific youth training that i have set up so i generally avoid doing this, you could possibly bring in some old senior player who has a good personality and is never going to play for you and stick him in the youth team then set up mentoring in the youth team

theres must be a big bugg with the fm23 my youngsters arent developing , even my young stars in my 11 side artent developing , example Antonio Silva from Benfica ive put him on since day 1 of the save im now in the midle of season 2 and the only thing his improved on was Impulse by 1!!!!!!!!

Surely you can't loan out every player beyond 18 or you wouldn't have any players in your U-21 squad? That's the issue I struggle with, I want to loan good prospects out but then I'm sometimes left with like 5 or 6 players in the U-21 squad! I guess you just need to keep some players in the U-21's, ones who might not be good enough for your 1st team, ultimately.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't be better to put Mick training as a ball playing defender to improve his technical ability too? Later you can always swap if he doesn't develop that area.

It depends mate, some like to iron out weaknesses as you say, some like to improve strengths. I was just showing an example with Mick, im actually doing something different with him on the Leicester save - Jake

@@fmscout i get what you're saying but doesn't the "ball playing defender" trains pretty much everything a "center back" trains and more? I know a few things are different between both but i thought the defensive aspect would evolve the same between those 2

@@meireles9 but your also spreading his attributes out more. all players only have limited potential. would you rather a guy with say 18 heading,marking,tackling and say 7 passing or 14 in those and say 11 passing. i would rather my CB be foremost an amazing defender before i consider their technical ability

Does a B team counts has a regular sénior team for Youth Dev.?

I believe B teams use the same facilities as Senior team and all youth squads you can see. For development, it's best to make sure they're playing matches, even if you have to go schedule a bunch of friendlies. Realistically, B teams are usually for fringe players to keep fit, injured players to regain fitness, and players waiting out their contract that you have no use for anymore. If you have a high potential player, you want them to go from u18 into your main squad, not loitering around with the B team.

I use Juve and they have a B team which I got promoted to Serie B. Is it worth sending youth out on loan or keeping them on the B team playing in the second division?

Issue with Tip 5: If you loan a kid out, do they lose their grown-in-home-club status? I try to ensure I keep four kids back for European squads in the future. Am I right?

If you don't loan them out until they're 18, they'll likely keep homegrown and grown at club stats. Remember, you may not see the players until they're 15 or 16, but they've potentially been in your academy for years before that (this is where youth facilities, youth recruitment, and junior coaching all take effect, behind the scenes for you to never see). Some will already be homegrown club and country shortly after making it through your academy if they came in when they were 12 or something. When you have to keep them at your club is if you've bought youngsters from other clubs, or on the very rare occasion where your YA snipes another team's prospect.

@@RoaringPhilosopher Yes, exactly, for Champions League, Europa League, and Europe Conference League. I believe it's 4 homegrown at club and 8 in country (homegrown at club should count as in country as well). If you don't have those homegrown players you have to leave empty spots, and trust me, it sucks to only be able to register 17 players because your whole team is foreign wonderkids.

Yeah, it can cause a slow start. But once they learn the language, feel comfortable, etc. they will start playing to their ability. Best to have a plan B if you sign an poor adaptability player for your first squad. He may be a stud in year two and forward, but could be inconsistent or just bad for some time at the beginning.

Great video, however I find it difficult to loan players out, seems no one wants them and also you want to make sure the training facilities of the club you are loaning them to are at least adequate. Wonder if Jake also uses the loan manager here to assist with this ? Also wished Jake did a video on how to make AI clubs interested in player you want to loan, seems no one wants the wonderkids I have.

I've read that it's better to focus on 3-4 nations (preferred to have active leagues for more games to watch), and it's better when the scout already has knowledge of those countries or at least a high adaptability.
