They have so many similarities careerwise. I’m gonna compare their shows: 1. King and the Clown (LJG) vs Painter of the Wind (MCW) => well-made shows set in the historical era that shows unconventional relationships => these movie/drama are their breakthrough roles => they play beautiful entertainers sought by many for their skills/talent in the arts => their characters have a special relationship with someone of the same sex, audiences over the years analyze their characters’ relationships with the other of the same sex if they’re romantic or just friendship => older powerful men tried to keep their respective characters for their (older man) sexual interest => they won best couple with their respective same sex costars (they are pioneers in same sex best couple award) => gonna add how funny that MCW became LJG fan after King and the Clown but it is LJG who witnessed MCW won best couple for Painter of the Wind (he and Han Hyo Joo actually lose their potential best couple award for MCW and Moon Geun Young here) => they both got nominated at Baeksang best new actors for their roles here (LJG won but MCW didn’t) 2. I loved flower of evil, except for the ending. When almost all dramas go for the amnesia or another reason for a "will they, won't they?" ending becomes predictable and annoying. Only show that didn't do that that I've seen is "It's okay to not be okay" that one had a proper happy ending with plenty of time with the characters just being happy, I felt happy for days after because of that.
