If you want any context on what “Unbeatable” is with the characters in the song, it’s based on the Nintendo commercial for the NES or SNES and it looks kind of cursed.

Fun Fact: GB used this as a bait in the Main story version of Hellish Heights but weirdly Ultra M/Horror Mario has a leitmotif to Unbeatable using a glitched Mr. SyS icon beside his own icon

It’s unreal how they managed to turn an Australian NES commercial that’s only 45 seconds long into a 10+ minute banger in the form of Unbeatable. Easily in my top 3 favorite FNF songs of 2023.

The characters in Unbeatable are from an old NES commercial, yes... they were real. Also Juno Songs, the voice of DJ Hallyboo released a lyrical version of No Party, the song that has Hallyboo. It is super worth the listen and watch.

@@MairusuAlso the ending of the song has it so you cannot heal from hitting notes and also each character yields a different gimmick: Mr Sys gets the only No Miss segment Duck Hunt Dog causes damage every time the background goes red and boyfriend on the health bar breaks. Bowser has a firebar that forces you to half and bullet bills to obscure the screen. With Duck Hunt Dog they're meant to be Mechakoopas and with Bowser they are indeed Lakitus. Mr Virtual doesn't have a game but has one wild story, I won't speak of it aside from V was human. If you ever want info for these characters I can supply, I basically know them all.

18:49 hey, i'm a programmer, didn't work on this mod, but i'm gonna answer your question because i think i know how they pulled this off, basically, it changes your desktop wallpaper to the "TOO LATE" background, and then it makes the game window fullscreen and makes the ingame background transparent (if that makes sense), and the way it manages to do all that isn't by any wierd hacking or whatever, it's via the windows API, an official set of functions and variables that microsoft created to help software developers make thier programs work on windows, but it can also be used for "meta" 4th wall-breaking stuff like this.

it doesnt make the game fullscreened, but more like borderless windowed, as ive been able to see the green edges of the window (customly set in windows settings) after mr virtual turns into gf and displays the desktop, but also hides the top of the window off-screen to make it seem as though its taken over the entire computer, but still, sick stuff!

Btw, the Unbeatable song is based on an old Nintendo commercial that had creepy CGI since it fell victim to the same fate as other early CGI, it was meant to be groundbreaking but was instead terrifying.

fun fact: only the first "don't miss" part in unbeatable kills you if you miss, so the hardest part of the song is actually near the beginning also theres alternate pause menu descriptions for each part of overdue, the second part of promotion, and each part of the end (after mario wakes up and in the first person part) the overdue and the end ones explain what the song is based on but otherwise they arent that interesting 46:42 seems to be all-stars act 4 but with references to touhou music (not sure who the character is)

Also, in golden land, powerdown, and demise, the description also changes in them. In golden land, after GB transforms it changes. In powerdown, it also changes after MX transforms. And in demise, I believe it changes during the last part of the song when it's stuck on 3 seconds, but I can't fully remember.

I thought the gimmick of Unbeatable was that if the electricity comes up and the arrows go to the center during *all* the sections, that tells you that you cannot miss. It's still pretty tricky during the first part of the song. The Touhou song being referenced in Act 4 of All Stars is Bad Apple. One of the most popular Touhou songs thanks to its Music Video. The song itself is Elly's Stage Theme from Lotus Land Story. One of the PC-98 Touhou games.

Mairusu, about this one 46:30 That's actually from Touhou, A game series where you shoot bullets around (it's before Undertale was a thing), and you see all of the Touhou characters are females, Also that giant "Mario" with the red dress (it's called a shrine maiden's outfit) is based on Touhou's main protag, Reimu Hakurei (How about to say her name "Rei-Muu) as that little girl with her shoes says "ZUN" it's Cirno, she's a ice fairy, and "ZUN" is actually the creator of Touhou Go to the wikipedia and search in Touhou,

Also A small detail I found within Ultra M's design in the image is that there are eyeballs. Which are a reference to YuugenMagan who is the 1st boss of the Makai Route in Touhou 1

some song descriptions change depending on what happens in the song. like overdue for example: at the beginning it wont say much, but after the title card plays you can read on the lore of the song. i dont know if this happens for others that give a bad description but its worth a shot. Promotion and the end does it as well.

*Things to react to that weren’t mentioned in some of the descriptions: “Undeatable” is based on an Australian (and New Zealand) advertisement where A Nintendo employee challenges all gamers to beat Nintendo. “No Party” is from A series where this guy made A bunch of fake Anti Piracy Measures for Mario Party DS. Oh yeah, you forgot to read the descriptions for the first world. “Nourishing Blood” is based on A bootleg resprite of A Flintstones NES game. Replacing Fred with Mario. A KZfaqr named Vinesauce was playing bootlegs on stream and discovered 7 Grand Dad and it became A massive meme. “Mario Sing And Game Rhythm 9” is based on another bootleg game called Somari The Adventurer. A REALLY BAD port that puts Sonic 1 on the NES and replaces Sonic with Mario.*

the first guy in unbeatable is called mr sys (steal your soul) and also the song unbeatable is 10.5 mins long and at 12:30 bf is flicking them off with a sonic mania theme because mario and sonic are rivals, so basically nintendo and sega might be rivals💀 and for ur question at the end unbeatable is real based off of a commercal nintendo had.

Additional Context: There's also an motif for Flowering Nights (or more known by its Remix. Night of Nights) Ultra M is wearing the clothes of Reimu Hakurei. The main protagonist of the series and the sort of mascot for the series Boyfriend has the Clothes of Cirno. Who originally was the Stage 2 boss in Touhou 6. EOSD The eyes on Ultra M might be based on the 1st boss of The makai route in Touhou 1. Also known as YuugenMaagan

I saw a video of some of the cut content that did not make it in the mod. Among them were sprites for BF in a 3d gmod styles and sprites for SMG4 mario, meaning there was plan's for a SMG4 song in the mod. I'm sad that it didn't make the cut. Mairusu, Fun Fact about Touhou, it's the first shooting game before Undertale, (it looks similar) Every Touhou games' main protags contains of a Shrine Maiden named Reimu Hakurei, and her sidekick ordinary witch Marisa Kirisame, and they're solving mysteries of incidents

Fun fact: in the last song of the mod, only the 1st part has a "don't miss" section. Everyone else is fine if you miss. (Just don't miss too much, they know how to bring your health down.) So seeing you switch to Luigi just shows how cowardly you were. Lol 😆

@@Mairusu another fun fact, it always ends in either a loss or a tie, but never a win. So no matter how good you are, they will always be unbeatable. Fun fact 3, because Mario has everyone in him during the final fight (as you can see the icons next to him), that also includes the unbeatable. Which means that Mario will never lose against you. *He will always win!*

Idk if you found out about this, but the reason why BF’s palette changed from blue to green in that Unbeatable cover was because his palette was made to be similar to Link from the same Zelda CDi games. He even has the Link voice for his chromatic

I would retry unbeatable Every 'opponent' has their separate mechanic Mr Sys (the announcer guy or Steal your soul) mechanic is DO NOT MISS. While it is hard, IT DOES NOT APPLY TO EVERY OPPONENT im quite glad they decided to do the harder mechanic first Imagine losing 8-9 minutes into the song. Duck hunts mechanic is the zapper gun, on beat, you will be shot up, just hit the notes and you will be fine Finally bowser, he has 2 mechanics in his portion. 1st is the fire bar, upon having contact with bowsers/bf's health icons, resets the health to basicly to half health 2nd are the bullet bills Basicly visual distractions covering your view, focusing on the top (bottom if you do upscroll)

Mr virtual (A.K.A. the opponent in paranoia) is suppose to have a video series called The Virtual Files and was suppose to be based around his victims, his story, and his goals. lthough we do not have a acutal release date on it, its still very unfinished I believe.

46:43 What, how and why? This Touhou Project lmao. You can hear Bad Apple, Flowering Nights and probably some other song that I don't know of or it's original. Of all places I expect to see Touhou, it'd be here. The song sounds pretty cool tbh. BF seems to be Cirno and I don't know exactly who's on the left (Mario likely cause the mod) but they're Reimu. I don't know what the eyes are though, could likely be for design. Also on BF shoes is labeled "ZUN" which is creator of Touhou.

Who could even beat the unbeatable song without Luigi? Has anyone ever made it through unbeatable without using luigi? I don't know if anyone has ever done it because not being allowed to miss a single note is asking a lot from the player especially for a over 10 minute song that is outrageous. It makes Matt and Ultra instinct Shaggy look really easy in comparison.

Fun fact: one tiny new detail after the mod, when you go in the overworld, boyfriend's character sprite is different. When you just had gone to the overworld for the first time (or anytime before the all stars), boyfriend's face was showing. Fun fact : The call Luigi is a reference to Super Mario Maker 2, where if you lose too much in story mode, the call Luigi screen will pop up and if you click help, Luigi will help you by giving you an ability to place a limited amount of blocks in levels.

Only that first section where it tells you not to miss will the game instakill you. There's no other part of the song that has you die immediately if you die. Oh yeah and my favorite is either Starman Slaughter for being too banger, or Alone for evoking so much emotion. Both are S++ tier and I can't decide which is better.
