This tutorial is a great introduction to EVA foam melee weapons and can be applied to all sorts of fun prop making projects!

I'm so late to cosplaying this character, but I'm so so so grateful for your tutorial - concise and super easy to follow, with the supplies all listed. Also, thank you so much for linking Coscom, their prices are incredible and they have such a great selection for what I need. I always found prop making way more daunting than sewing, but with this tutorial I'm actually excited to give this a try!

That axe looks so cool thank you for making this i love the huntress i used to main her (key words used to) but i stop playing her and got out of touch with her and, I've been looking into making her axe to honor those days, again thank you so much this makes me want to main her again..

Hello, first off, love this tutorial, second off, i have purchased your pattern and i am having issues with figuring out how to scale it. Is the pdf already scaled. So when i put it in the software you instructed will it be ready to print? Or do I have to do any scaling? I would really appreciate your input. Thank you!!

The pattern is already scaled so when you print it as tiles it will already be the correct size. But if you would like it larger or smaller you can easily print it to a different scale. If you have any issues, feel free to message me at simplyrachael@yahoo.com

What thickness of EVA scraps did you use for the ends? And what glue are you using?

I used barge contact cement. If you mean the ends of the pvc pipe, I capped it off with 4mm or 6mm. Those are pretty much the thicknesses I used for the whole build.

Hi, I love you tutorial and I buy the template to try making the axe for my Huntress cosplay, but I have so problems with the part of glue pieces of Foam to create the form of the top and bottom of the axe. How did you create the parts to cut? Sorry if difficult to understand me, my English is bad

@@gabrielponce7770 the size is not super precise. I made it to dimensions that were appropriate to my size, but it can be scaled up or down if needed. I don’t know the exact width off hand.

How much foam would someone need for this project? (Newbie here. Sorry if this is a silly question)

It’s hard to say exactly how much because depending on where you buy it from they sell it in different size sheets and different thicknesses. For this particular weapon, it didn’t require a whole lot because only the head is solid foam and the handle is foam wrapped around PVC which saves on needing as much foam. Generally it always helps to lay out your pattern and see how many pieces of each section you need to create the proper thickness. And then it’s easier to estimate how much foam you need.

Alright sorry for the ignorant question...I don't have illustrator..how would I blow it back up and print it on multiple pages? I already bought the pattern but now I'm stuck :(
