Is the bass at least noticeably better than from the Sennheiser HD 600's?

Wonder how these compare to the much more expensive Sennheiser HD820 closed back flagship. I suspect the "overdamped" bass may be a necessary compromise to solve the usual closed-back resonances (muddy, boomy, lethargic bass) in lesser designs.

Dang in live in Texas, but I've been to Charlotte a couple of times. I wish I've known about yall while I was there. Oh well I'll be back in Charlotte sometime in the future.

Great review, can you please test the closed backed similar priced headphones by Final Audio. They are legendary for the open back sound. Thanks.

nice review, but a bit weird that you talk directly to your audience, but sometimes not look into, but just next to the camera, doesn't feel right.

I love the short cable for portable use it's perfect! Absolutely agree it's too short for the desk though. Would be nice to have 2 cables, 1 short and 1 long!

if you like HD800 you will love them, they dont like hip-hop and bass, little analytic, for best performance they need power and good source , I have Kann and balanced cable. Elegia is more musical, try also Beyrdynamic T5p (2nd gen) and of course closed Audeze,

try to ask for demo, grado is unique I try GS2000e for 2 weeks and they dont fit me well and cable make me crazy, but I dont know GH2.

Does it sound great though, and how would you rank the models? I'm interested in getting the Clear. It will possibly replace my HD 800 S as I am sensitive to treble spikes.

If you can, try out Sonarworks TrueFi with your HD800. It will take care of the treble spike for you, and you'll be left with better sound-stage compared to this Elegia.
