The aperture of the lense (the curvature of lense surface) is part of a hypothetical circle, called circle of curvature & its radius is known as radius of curvature. As you increase or decrease the size of aperture the lense becomes thin or thick, its curvature decreses or increases accordingly and hypothetical circle that generates from this curve is of biggeer or smaller size with its radius of curvature large or small. Then use the relation R = 2f & imagine yourself how focal length will vary. लेंस का एपर्चर (लेंस की सतह की वक्रता) एक काल्पनिक वृत्त का हिस्सा है, जिसे वक्रता चक्र कहा जाता है और इसकी त्रिज्या को वक्रता की त्रिज्या के रूप में जाना जाता है। जैसे ही आप एपर्चर के आकार को बढ़ाते या घटाते हैं, लेंस पतला या मोटा हो जाता है, इसकी वक्रता कम हो जाती है या तदनुसार बढ़ जाती है और काल्पनिक वक्र जो इस वक्र से उत्पन्न होता है, बड़े या छोटे आकार का होता है, जिसकी वक्रता बड़ी या छोटी होती है। फिर संबंध R = 2 f का उपयोग करें और कल्पना करें कि फोकल लंबाई कितनी भिन्न होगी।

Sir, I have a pretty intriguing way to visualise it, do let me know if it is correct. A lens can be thought of as a collection of prisms, from top to bottom, and a slab in the middle. The tendency of a prism is to bend incident light as per its structure and orientation, whereas when the light passes through the optic centre, it is essentially passing through that part of the lens which we have thought of as a slab, so it goes undeviated, passing through the centre of the slab of an infinitesimally small thickness.
