The Golden Age of Rock and Roll. Huge thanks to my older brother-now deceased-who used to bring ALL of the great LPs of the period home for me to hear. The Who, Mott, Led Zep, Humble Pie, Blue Oyster Cult, Yes, Foghat, Genesis, T Rex, Stones, Deep Purple, James Gang,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so many more!,,,,,,,,,,,,,omg we were so spoiled by SO MUCH great music in those days. And it will live on.....not like the garbage the "industry" pumps out these days.

... thou such a smallish list - yea I know - 100's more belong on it. Those days when 'Talent' was seemingly running rampant. When u could put an LP on and every cut was a hit in its own way. I then think towards current times - I kinda think part of the problem is most chords n' rhythms were done taken and used and singers egos pop after a few outings. Thou again b kinda hard for these pups to get somethin together without soundin like someone else - infringement if obtaining airplay SO hence the Grunge Rock phase of the 90's. Then there's the fake techie drummin, etc. that gained pop - only one that could ever pull that off was the one hit wonder of Aldo Nova (lol) - maybe a few others since but u get the drift.

I was just sitting here listening to this and traveling back to so many years ago. I said to myself “let’s look and see what people have to say” and the first comment was yours. I’m 59 and like you my older brother (gone now for 10 years) had all this great stuff pumping out of his bedroom daily. I would be sitting in the early, early days maybe still playing with my Hot Wheels, but bopping my head to the rhythm. Shortly I was invited in his room and he, my next oldest brother and I would listen to all the music you listed and all the others greats. Grand Funk Railroad was a mainstay. I don’t think those today understand what it was like to have whole albums of great new music every week landing in the record stores. It truly was a “Golden Age”! I am taken back and flooded with emotion watching and hearing this. It was probably solely responsible for me picking up an electric guitar and playing to this day. I went on different musical journeys, but this R&R/R&B will always be in my blood. Take care my Man…✌️

Yeah, we were spoiled back then and didn’t know it. So much music and so many great groups and good music. I used to wait for a Radio station to play a new album release by my favorite bands so I could record it on my tape deck. Then I’d listen to it again and usually I’d go out and buy it. Tape decks were great! They used to be excitement in anticipation of a new album release. I remember waiting until midnight to hear Led Zeps In through the Outdoor. And boy did they deliver once again. The album was different than what I expected but was still great! Foghat was another great live band that toured constantly. We had it too good! Now I still have my CDs but I don’t listen to Radio anymore. Only KZfaq! Thank God KZfaq exists so I can see and hear this great music over again! 😊

I saw the current Foghat lineup two years ago at Wild Adventures south of Valdosta, Georgia and had a blast. Hats off to Roger Earl for keeping the band going. Yeah, he is sort of like the forgotten slide guitar player. Rarely mentioned in slide guitar player lists. Had a great style. If you get the chance check out some of their 90's and 00's shows on YT -- there's one in particular when he was playing with Foghat (Dave, Rod, Earl, and a bass guy I can't remember), it's some fairground show in the Midwest -- pro shot, stereo sound. Just as good as we see here. They still had it. Drivin' Wheel, Slow Ride. It's kickass.

First car ever owned - '70 1/2 Z28 - radio delete - wired up a quadrophonic 8-track deck in it thou only had 2 'real quad' tapes for it 'so far'. That deck had a synth button for added simulation of 'non-quad'. Was kinda like the old Sansui Synthesizers. Pluggered Foghat in n hit the synth - WOW lemme just say - those 4 big ol 30oz n 20oz magnet speaks ( 2 in back shelf - 2 just lyin under the front seats - aint cuttin kick panels nor would they fit anyways ) thru that quad synth was drivin this bands diff signals all over the innerds couldnt b beat for the time. Everyone i knew were soon into em - huge school - huge amt. of humans - all into rock - ran out n' gotta copy of that LP or tape asap. Back in the 70's lucky enuff to see em 5 times at big venues within range - these guys 'always' rocked the house down ! By the way one of the best 'factory quad' tapes ever and had quite a few from those days due to havin a quad deck in house too ......." Aerosmith - Rocks " - the cut of 'Back In The Saddle' was undoubtedly way beyond 4-dimensional.

Also if ya dig and enjoyed this video by Foghat and grew up on their music 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on KZfaq. 😀

Went and saw Foghat several times in the seventies. Tickets were $5. Their songs were always on the radio then. April Wine toured with them a bit, I think.

Saw them in “78” Judas Priest, BTO and Foghat headlining. Pretty badass lineup for your first concert in Dallas Tx.

I remember their live album in the 1970s with Slow Ride was very good. Good blues, boogie rock.

My very first concert as a kid was Foghat with Blackfoot opening up. With Alice Cooper, UFO and Blue Oyster Cult soon to follow. The 70s were great.

I never knew that Lonesome Dave played guitar! Nice. Like a lot of commenters here, Foghat Live! was the very first album I ever bought. I think…. or it might have been Boston’s first record. It was that strange period between Jr. High & High School. Good times.
