I just 3 other tutorials on this technique, but each featured a considerably wider folded leaf. It took me all 3 videos for the method to finally sink in. It looks a lot trickier doing such a narrow version like your earrings. For me, that's only because it's not as easy to see the shape develop with only 2 rows. Thank goodness for your video. I can watch it several times as I'm trying to make your earrings. See, the design is well worth doing so, IE watching the tutorial several times. Thanks for sharing!

Connect same colors short end to long end. If you see at 14:00 how she twists them to line them up.

It's a new side and the count would be 3 going on 4 at the timestamp you posted. This side will add up to 20. Hard to explain without showing you a picture but if you go to time 9:53 you will see what I am trying to explain.
