I'm sorry...😢 Mariology, Purgatory, Transubstiation, Infallibility of the Pope, Eschatology is a wreck, Priests can't be married, Saint and icon worship, praying to and for the dead... On and on and on. The only good thing that came out of the so called Mother church was the Nicene Creed and the preservation of the shroud...I do have to say they also have done some good with helping the poor and pro life movement..

Honestly, if the Catholics would just accept the Eighth Ecumenical Council when they rejected the filioque and simply accept the historical role of the Bishop of Rome, the Papacy likely wouldn't have schismed. @@laleloli

I once knew someone whose family was similarly wiped out by compounding tragedies... in fact she died the same way as your sister -- tragically, it was on her birthday. Her brother then died, a while later... and her father died after that (couldn't handle losing two kids, I guess). I totally agree, just being denominational in itself breeds division. Even the comment section here shows that lol it's ridiculous. No one looks to scripture first, but to their denomination first for answers…and round and round we go. 😶 It's all "YES! I wish we could unite! But apart from so-and-so denomination because they should admit they are wrong etc etc" When scripture says " the way is narrow" - it's Biblical that we billions of Christians will not all unite or even all be saved. "For many will say on that day Lord, Lord…" - That's reality. So people should stop focusing on what their denomination says and focus on what Jesus teaches us to do, because that is what saves…not what Church teachings we follow. That's how we unite, under Christ. Not religion.
