Despite the small scale and the different medium, this is probably the best Bob Ross paint-along I've seen in terms of actually using the techniques and composition style he used. Well done! Yours actually *looks* like a Bob Ross in a way I haven't seen from others.

It seems that you can actually paint like him if you don't complain every second how scared you are and are wailing your hands around and screaming. Some people just try too hard to be quirky and show their viewers how good Bob Ross is and how bad they are at art and Omg I can't do what he can. The best lesson Bob Ross teaches you is to stay calm, whisper with a soft voice and accept what you put on canvas.

Yes you did a wonderful job... I used to watch Bob as a kid at my grandma's house when he was originally on tv...it's so cool that he is so enjoyed now as well. Considering how much he inspired me it's surprising I haven't done a painting like this yet... but I plan to soon! There are so many of his videos.. how did you decide which one to do?

Maybe I’ll go tiny too! All the happy little accidents are so much easier to fix, plus the paint doesn’t have time to dry too badly. Your painting was amazing! Very well done. Super inspiring as well, thanks. Update 2 months later: it was great! I didn't get overwhelmed by the amount of paint needed, wasn't intimidated by larger "empty" spaces (like a patch of blue sky), and it genuinely was fun. Can't wait to try tiny Bob-Rossing again!

By far the best tutorial I've seen anyone do for a Bob Ross painting. Normally when people do these, it always feels its for attention and no effort. But this, this was wonderful. You literally tried your best with what you had and I appreciate it. It looks amazing! Bob Ross would be so proud.

I love how you used a different type of paint and still made a relatively close "Bob Ross Painting" because now it's making me wonder, can you (not you specifically, just in general) paint a Bob Ross painting with other paint/ish mediums like watercolor and pastels?

I am on a Bob Ross marathon. Nice painting, I too remember watching him when I was little in Mexico. I didn't speak any English and yet I loved seeing him on TV, no youtube back in the 90s. I didn't realize it until now that he's been gone for a while, and that kinda made me sad.

I always wanted to follow along with Bob Ross, but hated the idea of oil paints, and a big canvas, and going and buying all these big brushes and palette knives etc. So, thank you for being ingenious enough and generous enough to show using other materials. It never occurred to me to be able to follow along without everything. You did a really beautiful painting. (Also, palette knives would totally work with gouache - I only ever though you were 'supposed' to use palette knives with gouache, so it's definitely a thing). #essay sorry

My boyfriend and I are making everyone in our family a mini Bob Ross painting and we've been having such a hard time finding to scale examples such as this one (were making them on 5x5 mini canvases) so this video was a beautiful and PERFECT help for us to gauge what the end result will be. Thank you so so much for this video. And watching you work/ end result has made us both so excited to jump in and get started.

*Brilliant!* I can't believe how well that turned out with such a small canvas and wrong materials. Also, just an *amazing* attention used at recreating his painting. Your mountain peaks, land and water lines, the trees! They were all in the same spots with same shapes and angles. Nice steady hands you must have.
