no, love this painting. It's got more personality than the last imho. I'm quite a 'tight' painter and love your looseness. I'm trying to loosen up but I like a bit of fantasy style art so it's got to be tight (use a lot of wet into wet on the backgrounds). I love the softness of the first one but the bright colours and contrast in this one are great. Love the lost edge too.

Fiona, yeah, you may be right about the personality thing. 😊 Maybe that's my thing to get that crazy with contrast and colors!! But watercolor masters, like Alvaro Castagnet, for example, say that this doesn't look professional (these kind of colors)... 🤔 🤨 Never mind, I am not really a professional?! Am I?!!! 😂 I am sure that's great for you to play with another contrast in your Fantasy art, between detailed areas and a wet in wet background. 👍😌

I love classic watercolours like Castagnet.. but I hate rules.. art is free :) I also do an 'illustrate my life' journal which is very free and sketchy and 'badly' drawn..and on the back burner at the mo. I play with so many things because that is what art is for me. Thank god I have the luxury to have time for play (I'm nearly sixty now so about time :) ) I have just been playing with gansai tambi mixed with cheap white gouache and love it.. I have a starter set from W&N on they way and some shinhan pass colours too...Let's have fun!! I don't know what you mean by professional? I have sold paintings hahaha so...??? But you surely are an artist and a very good one at that

It’s fantastic! It’s YOU. Don’t worry about the bottom not being the way some kindergarten teacher says, you don’t have to paint in the lines & you don’t have to taper the lines. Scrapes look great to me. Art is fun and expressive, expression of self, a stress relief; not a stress builder. Be you and enjoy. Great demo!

I like the ’brush stroke borders’ because it shows the artists brush strokes. You give me the confidence to get out and start painting 😀 I vote yes to the scrathes, they give the painting life and intrest. You should be super proud of both of your paintings. I love them both ❤️

Hi, I absolutely LOVE this painting, the effects you get with your chosen strokes and chosen colours are magic on the paper. When I saw the scraping, I thought - oh no please don't scrape - but every scrape was well judged and then you could paint them over if you wanted. I loved the broken colours at the bottom and there was a gorgeous wet in wet combo that looked fantastic. J'adore le resultat (no accents - sorry). I am just a beginner but I aspire to being able to produce something like this one day. Inspirational. Merci x

I like what you said, once again... Yeah, you're right, the leading the eye thing can probably a reason why I like/do it. 😊 And always trying to interpret rather than to depict of course. And imperfection is my new perfect!! The other day, the sinfer Mika said in a TV show "Perfection doesn't have any style". So true!! If I had time, I would have done a video about it. Following the White Rabbit Your enthusiasm about art is contagious! Makes me excited about painting. Would you mind a question, what do you do when you just can't pick up the brush, no motivation to make art, you're just stuck with no idea what to paint? Thank you for any tips you can share. 😀
@FollowingtheWhiteRabbit
@FollowingtheWhiteRabbit 6 жыл бұрын
Hi again Aneta! Ha ha, that's a tough question, indeed. In my notes about that for a future video 😁 there are : ▷Tips to break the starting problem. It's always a bit difficult to jump start the creativity and the sketching so we have to facilitate and find solutions for this. This includes having all your things ready and easy to use, jumping start your inspiration by browsing an art book you like or watching the kind of video that get you inspired and stopping as soon as you feel the urge to create and go create! Even painting something abstract (r starting abstract) if we don't know what to draw?! Or, starting with something else than sketching but close. 😌 For example, for April, Is started a mix of Sketchbook / Bullet Journal / Gratitude Journal (that I will share soon) so I start working in it just to write a few things from the day, I play with stamps, I sometimes doodle or do a bit of calligraphy and this can make it easier to start sketching, of course. 😊 I am in the flow!! 😛 ▷ Tips to stay inspired like having several kind of techniques we like so that it's easier to sketch anything. For example, if it's not a good subject for painting, I would make an ink sketch or a pencil sketch on toned paper. I try to stay open to several techniques. Plus, during these last few months when I was sometimes less inspired, I started, a few times, to copy other artist works. Just studies to try to understand how they do thing, and to enjoy a easier art practice 😳☺️ without having to come up with a tedious thinking process. Hope this helps?! Do you have some tips for me as well? 😊

Following the White Rabbit Thank you so much for taking the time to write back, I will keep all these tips in mind and give it a try. One of the things I do is make a bunch of watercolor blobs on paper, all different colors (great way too see all one's beautiful pigments) and then I try to e what I can make out of them with pen and ink. It's quite fun.

I love the journey you take us on throughout the video, and, as usual, we always end up in a great place! It’s wonderful that you are always experimenting and your generosity of sharing your thoughts helps us see what you are trying go achieve. Both paintings/sketches show your flexibility to adapt and bring in fresh ideas. The scraping really adds to the atmosphere. Je t'admire pour ton courage et pour avoir fait partager ton enthusiasme.........merci!

Thanks for coming along this journey Skass Kass! 😊 I am happy that the thoughts sharing doesn't look like rambling but is indeed useful for you all. ☺️ So much compliments in your comments, wow! They are really appreciated. Un grand merci !!!! 😘 Probably this flexibility thing and coming up with fresh ideas and always experimenting ann not knowing how this is going to end up 😅 is what keeps me excited. 😝

Beautiful painting! Your scraping was just right as the end result is very dynamic. I like the loose borders, no containing you :)

beautiful job. I wasn't sure when I saw the picture. I like both. the contrast was great and the color choices were great.

Hi Kellie! Thanks for your feedback. 😌 Yes, each of us can feel or not inspired by a scene, a picture, that's really personal. Thankyou for your compliments about my paintings! 😊
