LYRICS:
You shoulda heard me in the lounger
Telling people what they was
Spitting out all types of sugar
Just dying for a cause
Cause - cause -
A smiler slithered to my corner
On a face so true
My word is always in the ready
And I’ll attribute that to you
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t wanna belong to anyone
You shoulda heard him in the bowery
Learning people with a tongue
Cut from second-hand cloth
- make the women feel young
I heard him serving as a soldier
In the annexe of the earth
Threw himself before a bullet
And threw the metal to the dirt -
Hear the man’s word
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t wanna belong to anyone
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t wanna belong to anyone
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t belong to anyone
I don’t wanna belong to anyone

Who can I complaint to about this major error only 155790 views, this a sin, this a crime, this is injustice. To me an old man of over 90 years young, this is most brilliant music, it had got everything,I could hear up to 15 other different brilliant bands in the mix going back 50 years, I now can hear Lou Reed & The Velvet Underground. I spoke to my doctor last week and she advised that I did not have a thing to worry about, my hearing and soft shoe dancing was just spot on and great, she fully agrees with my choice of music and now plays this for the patients mwho come in her surgery and have found that she needs to give less medians and pills as her patients are regaining good health just by listen to this music. So I will use the very wors that the great Rory Gallagher would say at the end of his gigs to his audiance, Thanks a Million Fontaines DC for your most brillint music and the great stories you tell My cosin James Joyce is very proud of you

[Verse 1] You shoulda heard me in the lounger Telling people what they was Spitting out all types of sugar Just dying for a cause, cause, cause A smiler slithered to my corner On a face so true My word is always in the ready And I’ll attribute that to you [Chorus] I don't belong to anyone I don't belong to anyone I don't belong to anyone I don't wanna belong to anyone [Verse 2] You shoulda heard him in the bowery Learning people with a tongue Cut from second-hand cloth Make the women feel young I heard him serving as a soldier In the annexe of the earth Threw himself before a bullet And threw the metal to the dirt Hear the man’s word [Chorus] I don't belong to anyone I don't belong to anyone I don't belong to anyone I don't wanna belong to anyone [Bridge: Vocalizing] [Chorus] I don't belong to anyone I don't belong to anyone I don't belong to anyone I don't wanna belong to anyone I don't belong to anyone I don't belong to anyone I don't belong to anyone I don't wanna belong to anyone -from Genius

Every so often a band come along that renew your faith in guitar music. All your favourite bands can be heard in Fontaines D.C.They wear their influences with pride like all the great bands & put their own stamp on it.The first album is brilliant but this is a real step up..this is very special.

Grian, you are the most amazing vocalist I've experienced in my many years of music love, following and relating to everything of that sort since I was five or six and begging my mom to bring more 30's graphites down from the attic which I would play on my little phonograph and dance around later like I was the needle and inevitably, in my hyperactive sleepwalking daywalking split dancing around until I would break these brittle collector's pieces, one by one, until I had dance demolished every last fucking one...I remember this on some level and contradicted my mom when her response to my why was it gave you such pleasure...I still don't get it...I held my mom's hand and told her I loved her the week before she died, every day until I couldn't stand it and I feel so guilty for that, her end was prolonged and ghastly and I cry just attempting this...............
@ericpeterson6766
@ericpeterson6766 4 ай бұрын
hey that wasnt that real last year i was feeling guilty over not remembering my mom, partly because of how ghastly her death was, but I guess presentiments of not wanting to get there myself now that the end is in sight so to speak, just recapitulating that horrid week spent with my two opiate drugged dying mom, hyper and demonic in her brainwashed lutheran bullshit upbringing coming to scary full fruition on her death bed. ouch. did I just say that? anyway Grian, your new solo album is great and that last dig with the FDC was I thihnk more your penultimate project with them, since I think this upcoming album by you and the boys might be your last as lead vocalist....im dying to meet you, literally and have a few ideas for your future solo projects...also, I used to be promising in the sybnthesizer spawned blues jazz rock punk keys bag...just saying....

So good. I know I am from the epoch when music is meant to be somewhat larger than background noise for your daily activities: emotions, deeper meanings and all that partially bs stuff. In the age of numbers this kind of music for sure is far from mainstream, but I am happy that it still happens, that there is still music for the sake of music, not for the charts and fast cars.

Let me tell you guys a thing i heard from a wise man once. he said qoute: Imagine life if your standing still.... Now imagine while standing still people pass you by not paying attention to anything your doing and you just stare at the world as if you know something no one eles dose. Thats how trees feel EVERY SINGLE DAY no one pays them any mind thats how everyone should be.... but they'ed rather argue over nothing then being at peace. That shit makes me cry every time i remember it.
