UCSF's Laurel Mellin is the founder of emotional brain training (EBT), a method of treating obesity and stress symptoms that equips individuals with tools based on an integration of neuroscience and developmental theory to decrease the frequency and duration of the stress response and to favor high-level well-being. Emotional brain training has been applied to pediatric obesity prevention and treatment and to adults to improve psychological, metabolic and physical contributors to stress and a range of health-related indices. Series: Food and Addiction: Environmental, Psychological and Biological Perspectives [5/2010] [Health and Medicine] [Professional Medical Education] [Show ID: 18565]

I used this method in its early stages to overcome the emotional grief surrounding the death of my child. Its very clear that Professor Mellin with the help of others has developed things further. For once their is a complete theory on how to handle addiction and compulsive behaviors!!

During the 90's the tobacco industry; their lawyers, executives, scientists, advertisers, etc., fled to other industry. Many of the landed in the food industry. Even their people were aghast at how devious the food scientists had become.

This sounds great in theory, but how do I practically apply this to my life? I've never had a secure attachment in my life. When I look back over my life I would make an educated guess that I probably have reactive attachment disorder.

Okay so when I'm dieting and I get hungry in between meals and get an urge to overeat or gorge food what do i do?
@terrytang5367
@terrytang5367 4 жыл бұрын
It's normal to be hungry during a diet. This is something physical; you are hungry you want to eat. What she is talking about is over eating caused by emotional state such as stress.

Diets NEVER work. Change to a healthy eating lifestyle. Mine is based on plant based, free of sugar, oil, gluten, meat. Eat greens, veggies, fruit, beans, potatoes, rice all for fiber & starch. I can still overeat but at least it's healthy & doesn't do as much damage.

I don't get it. If this is true science and not a "spa-center" info lecture where are the scientific studies to back this up: neuroimaging, etc.

Humans don't have free will God and the angels control.all if is and food addiction is bad karma forced upon us through our center of will the solar plexus chakra of the soul

Hey, if the solar plexus is our center of will, then we must have some free will, right? Otherwise we're entirely mechanical cause and effect (which seems even more ludicrous). Anyway, I don't see how your comments are relevant to the video content?
@panfilobhutia

Maybe the bad karma is you overeating, doing drugs/alcohol which results in bad results in this very life.
