Not one statement of fact or claim made by the network was shown to be false. The wage stealing seller of spoiled meat got off by convincing the court that its privacy was violated. That’s the end of the story. ABC’s reporting was solid and damning.

I worked at Food Lion during this time when i was in college and was mailed a VHS tape of this video. Food Lion was a great place to work at least for me.

I was young back when the original story ran and, frankly, don’t remember all the particulars. That said, as of today I shop at Food Lion almost exclusively. Nice stores, good products, friendly staff, and great value. Can’t really speak to the past, but it’s a great grocery that supplies almost all my household food. Never been disappointed.

Tristan Rodriguez I saw the original broadcast of how old chicken was rinsed in bleach and repackaged....old meat was repackaged and the like.....I know that ABC lost in court but I also know what I saw WAS NOT FAKE TO ME! What I saw in the original broadcast was not fake news! THAT IS WHY, I SAY AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN, I WOULD NOT EVEN TAKE A SHIT THERE LET ALONE SHOP THERE!

Because the specific claims you saw in the broadcast were not talked about in this whole 17 min clip....outta the whole 17 mins just cuz u didn't see what you wanted to see...your gonna disregard the fact they lost in court, and alll this extra footage they lied to you about, and your gonna believe the 2 mins of a 60 min broadcast and believe the 2 mins you saw was real!! Come on....like I said if you don't like Food Lion then whatever....but you not going to Food Lion because of the Primetime broadcast is just as dumb as someone not going to Sea World because of Blackfish....another PROVEN fake and fabricated documentary that ruined and trashed the REAL story. These producers fucked it all up....they might have had a smaller story about a gross Food Lion....instead they lied about almost everything to get national headlines....and your dumbass bought it....and you don't care to do any other investigating...no you take ABC's word as gospel....i don't care about Food Lion, or if you'll ever go there....i have a problem with you blindly believe that which is fed to you on a spoon by massive news corporations that wants nothing more then your money and ad revenue.

I work in the meat department 2021. It's no different at Food Lion. The workers and manager are bullies and there's nothing I can do about it. It is still as unsanitary. The meat grinder has bad cigarette coughs and coughs on the meat he's grinding. They force me to stay an hour longer than I'm scheduled, which is illegal without my consent. The manager has harassed me and HR has done absolutely nothing about it. They pay basically minimum. This isn't sustainable or ethical. This is 2021. I'm waiting on a call interview from a factory nearby Friday. I'm going to keep trying and escape this ignorant place.

United Food and Commercial Workers union and ABC worked together to destroy Food Lion because the workers voted not to Unionize. So, the union didn’t get what they wanted so they had a tantrum and caused thousands of people to lose their jobs. How psychotic is that? Unions claim to help workers, but actually just help themselves.

They were charged with bleaching and dying green meat and then later the were shown repackaging out of date eggs. I would never and have never shop at a place that defended their behavior.

No proof of any of that exists. The source of those claims came from people suing food lion over labor issues. Nothing from the 43 hours of undercover video, nor any government inspection found any evidence of it. North Carolina inspected every food lion after this story and found 0 violations. Did you even watch this video?

Food Lion was just bitter. This story caused millions of people to stop shopping there by exposing its nasty habits and the company (which is part of a huge multinational company based in Europe) had to closed hundreds and hundreds of stores and was forced to exit whiole markets. It’s amazing that anyone shops at this store which is now only located in the South in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Food Lion has 1100 stores, in 10 states, as of this year. I worked there several years and I am one of the workers in the video. I worked in the deli, in Myrtle Beach, SC. They filmed almost a hundred hours of footage, and made traps, to get us to say a lot of what was said. I had to watch all the footage, for the Lawyers, for court. After watching all the footage, we saw where they pieced words and bits together, to make the video. We got to see them buy deli meat, take outside, put in their van. Leave it a couple days, then brought back, saying it was bad. The guy met up with the girl, and said, Come on, let's go get these guys. ABC Primetime, is known for making stories, for ratings, and has got in trouble, multiple times. That is what ended the show.
