you can do this with a whip or paddle attachment in a stand mixer and its very quick as well. pro tip is putting the bowl of the mixer in the freezer for 10-15 mins before you do it.

Thank you for taking the time to share that with important information. I don't have a standing mixer as of yet, but at some point will save up for one. Approximately how long would you say it takes to make butter in your standing mixer? If you're not sure, no worries, just thought I'd ask in case someone else is curious and wanting to know ☺️

You’re most welcome! I would say it only takes around 5 minutes I found out while I was making whipped cream 🙈 and realized I left it on too long and hit that. Basically after the stiff peak stage of whipped cream you head into butter territory. If you get a stand mixer would be cool to see how the texture/time etc compares. I don’t know if there’s a difference but could be an interesting experiment?

@@Shannyfrizz That would definitely be a fun experiment to try whenever I get one 🤗

Great video! Don't store butter in plastic. All fat will absorb the bad chemicals in the plastic. Cover with parchment or wax paper before using plastic wrap or plastic bags

Thank you Richard & Michelle, I appreciate you telling me! I'll line the baggies with parchment from now on. Excellent tip, makes sense 😁

Butter can be quite pricey, I would like to make some fresh butter, and save by making it fresh. Thank you you make it look very doable. Thank you 👍

Great tutorial. I've used my reg food processor for years. I'm glad to see a food processor/butter making tutorial. Btw, i never salt my butter. If i use in bread and butter type thing then i just add salt. Thanks.

I don't know what I did so long without a food processor, it's been such a Blessing to have and use for so many different things. It was a bit of an expense for us, so was a Birthday present that my Husband & parents got for me. I appreciate your comment. Yes, I enjoy butter without salt or with very little like I had put ☺️

For us here in Canada, a 1L container of cream is the same price as a 1lb of butter.
@RachaelXO6 ай бұрын
Yes, it all depends where someone lives as prices do fluctuate. It might not be affordable to make, but at least a good skill to know how to do if ever needed 😊

Unless you can get a good deal on heavy whipping cream it actually costs more to make your own butter. One quart of heavy whipping cream is $5.67 and that will make about 3 sticks of butter but I can buy 4 sticks of butter for $4.

Hey, thanks for your comment. The batch you saw me make in the food processor was just half of a carton that was left, then I opened a new carton. Which totals to a little over 8 sticks. I did the math for Costco prices & it's .05 cheaper to make it, & actually a little more cheaper because you get an additional good size ball of butter in addition to the 8 sticks. If the whipping goes on sale, it's even cheaper. There's of course really cheap butter, but I myself but better quality, so making homemade organic butter for still cheaper is a win for me. Of course by all means do what is Best for you, your Family, & situation 😊

@@RachaelXO Yeah organic butter does cost quite a bit more than regular.

@@MA-mh1vs I just looked at Walmart and for a half gallon there it's $4 cheaper for the non organic

@@RachaelXO Where do you live? I wish it sold that cheap in my area. Here in SW Missouri and NW Arkansas area it is $5.67 for a quart and $9.48 for a half gallon and that is for regular great value brand. The horizon organic is $5.24 for a pint.
