WHY are there hate comments on this video?!? Kate & her family are the sweetest, loveliest bunch, so I don’t see why there would need to be negativity on the comments on any of her videos! Personally I quite enjoyed this video as one day I will have to provide for myself so it was interesting to see. 💗💗

I know it's hard not to just grab the pouches but my mother in law gave me a good tip for when my sister was starting to introduce food with my nephew that she would just mash up any food they made and froze it in ice cube trays and then all you have to do is use a couple of cubes at a time and if they want any more just stick another in the dish for them and heat up. Saves waste, money, allows you to prep a couple of meals in advance and allows the little ones variety as you can use just a couple of cubes of each veg at a time. May not be ideal for everyone but may help someone out there 😊

Bulk out your spag Bol by grating the carrot! And add a load of veg! I can get 12 portions of spag Bol from one of those packs of mince!! It cuts the cost! And bulk cook freezer meals! I just got our weekly shop at Aldi for £48 which includes 16 Homemade frozen meals!

We used to feed our dog on bakers until I started my animal degree. One of the subjects was nutrition and I've now realised and been shown that there are much more healthier options out there for dogs. Just thought I'd mention it as we as humans are so interested in the food we put in our own bodies and our children's that it is also quite interesting to look at dog foods and the options out there :) Loved watching this food haul by the way :) x

We are a family of 3, soon to be four! And at the moment I try to stick with spending around £40 a week which I usually do. However that can vary depending on if we need wipes and nappies etc. A good tip is to buy your meat in bulk from a market or a local butchers. I get some of our meat from muscle food and do a big shop and that usually lasts us around 2 months hence why our weekly shop is so low. I then separate all the meat into bags and put them in the freezer and take it out as and when we need it! Xx

We have a baby on the way so we are trying to get our budget all sorted before the bundle arrives. We now shop at aldi and always write a list. We found writing a list is what really helps; we never shop off of it and it if you're only looking for what's on there it stops the mindless walking around.

Loved the video kate! Only thing I want to mention is your dog food, I would recommend doing some research into what you feed your dogs as Bakers and similar brands tend to have low meat content, more sugars. We used to feed our cat Felix and he went through so many packets and it was because the meat content was so low! Definitely opened our eyes as to what is actually in the ingredients and we done some research to find better brands! However with that said, I always love your videos 👍💕

Elisa Poli I was once told by a professional dog trainer that Bakers & the likes are basically the equivalent of giving your dog Mcdonalds everyday. Barking Heads was amazing for us, you need less than normal food and it's so natural & our boy's coat is absolutely gleaming since starting on it. You can get samples by asking the company too & there's lots of flavours too, our boy is so fussy & he adores this stuff! It has supplements in it too for healthy joints etc which is amazing x

I was going to comment something similar. We have cats and used to feed them cheap brand food until one of our boys was constantly poorly and in and out of the vets and we realised it was caused by the food! Any pet food available in supermarkets is not good for your pet. Our boys are now on Science Plan and happy and healthy thankfully. People wrongly assume it costs too much to feed your pets decent food but because it's not full of fillers and has a higher meat content, they don't need as much of it. We aren't spending any more feeding our cats Science Plan than we were feeding them Whiskers/Felix and similar. We buy their food from Zooplus as it's a lot cheaper than shops like Pets at Home.

100percent agree storing watermelon is a nightmare! Takes up half of the fridge when cut! Literally the only thing I would look into is the Bakers which another person commented on. You will be stunned how less hyper your dogs are when on another complete food. Arden grange is really good, it is more pricey but it has the right balance of nutrients for the dogs x just something to think about x We’re all allowed a treAt now and then don’t feel bad! It’s not like you’re going to eat them all in one go!! You’re keeping it real x

I’m a childminder and a family of 6. A German shepherd and two cats. We used to spend about £600 per month. I spend £200-£250 per month. I don’t really go to supermarkets, only once a month. Sometimes go to Iceland. But mostly go to the veg and fruit shop and the butchers. All meals made from scratch, even pizza. Don’t buy dog food, cook a batch of fresh waste cuts from butchers and cheap meat with veg and rice and pasta. The vet has said he’s more healthy. He’s also not really hyper compared to bakers we were feeding him as it has loads of salt and sugar in it. Plus it’s a lot cheaper as he’s a big dog. We get loads of different recipes online to make. We use tasty recipes from Facebook as well, great ideas. Hope this helps.

Love these videos. We shop in Aldi and spend roughly £40/£50 a week. That's for a family of three. Our son Archie is 2 and currently still in nappies. Being on slimming world I simply don't by in any treats other than the safari snacks and crisps for archies lunches. I also buy aldi essential range so will pick up the cheapest of the item i can find. It works for us. Obviously isn't for everyone.

Hi Kate, thanks for this video! We are a family of three and a kitty cat and are looking into ways to do better with our food shopping. I think that meal planning is what will really help us to shop better. Would be great to see another shopping video like this with clips from the meals you make with Ricky. As you said it is nice to get some ideas from the meals other people are planning for their week. From the ingredients it looks like these are going to be some yummy dishes. 😊 And its nice to see how much stuff you can get at a specific shop, though I dont know if we have an ALDI close to us. Will have to check it out now.

I’ve cut my shopping down to £50 a week or less, 2 adults a 8 month old baby and a cat. We meal plan, bulk buy meats and freeze, buy fruit and veg from the green grocers and the rest is from Aldi. It’s took a lot of hard work and sometimes I just want to buy easy alternatives but the savings are worth it. Well done! Xxx

We're a family of 4, my kids are 8 and 3 and my son has packed lunches every day for school and spend £60-70 for 3 weeks then on the 4th week spend £40 as we have a build up of food in the cupboards. I also get meats on offer and bulk buy. Just now the mince and chicken we buy is on offer 3 for £10 so I get them and freeze them. I get Tesco deliveries now as we use to pick up loads of extras when we went to the shops and would add on about £15-£20 extra. We have the midweek delivery saver which is £3.49 a month and the slot we get is £3.50 every Tuesday so we save £10.50 a month just by having the delivery saver and you get unlimited Tesco direct deliveries too with it. We use to be £140-£150 When our daughter was in nappies and on formula. We meal plan and do a shopping list every week. We go out on a Sunday and buy more bread, milk and eggs. I found this is the easiest way to save money, keep the family out the shops that way they can't see the offeres and think, it's only £1. Your zhoppingbill will come back down once both boys are out of nappies and off formula, well mine did when my daughter got potty trained.xx

If you're able to shop in the evening, around 8pm many shops reduce fresh fruit and veg, as well as bread products because of 'sell by dates'. Most of the time fresh stuff is perfectly fine (and you can tell for yourself while looking at it), and bread etc can be put in the freezer if not going to be eaten right away. Also doubling recipes or bulk cooking and use it in another meal or freeze it for another week (bolognese is great for this as you can use it in so many things - on jacket potatoes, make shepherds pie, pasta bakes). Doubling a recipe probably won't take you much longer than you would have spent cooking, and it allows you to buy in bulk which is often cheaper in the long run.

With the baby food... We used to make extra of every meal we had and blitzed it up and put it in our ice cube trays. Then we would just pop a few out and chuck them in the microwave until they were room temp / warm to feed her :) Mainly would be vegetables or left over fruit from my older child's lunch box when we bulk bought for the week! It saved us more money than we expected and I knew my daughter was getting healthy meals! :)

My one tip is to look for reduced meat and freeze it! Absolute life saver while I was at uni and really cut down on buying fresh meat (which is so expensive). I think you've done an amazing job spending just over £100 for a family of 4 + 2 dogs! I used to budget around £30 per week for just myself including the odd sandwich on the go so that's really impressive. Loved this video and would definitely watch something similar again :)

Kate, we are a family,of 6, 3 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 under 12, and the only way I can keep the shopping down is to shop online, usually Tesco. If I go instore it always goes up as your tempted by things on the end of the aisles which are bargain prices but then you just end up buying lots of them and up goes the bill, when you probably don’t need it. I put all essentials in my online basket, then add any extras, treats etc, and then the night before I’ll go back into it and decide if we need it all, and either add or take things off. That way I know the price and can try and keep under £100, instead of getting to the till and thinking oh crap that’s gone over. Still have to buy extra milk in the week as we go through so much. Don’t have baby things anymore which adds up, but do have 3 children all eating adult meals now so that 5 adult meals and a child and I can keep it under £100 by doing it online. Oh but that dosnt include the dogs, 2 large dogs which we bulk buy for once a month on top of that. Xx

Hi, one friendly piece of advice I got from my mum and it really does make a difference is not to buy chicken already cut up. If you buy two whole chickens and cut them up yourself you'd get a lot more meat and it would probably cost the same as two packs of chicken breast. I usually cut them up into three categories (breasts, legs and thighs, and wings and bones to make broth) and then freeze them.

I was buying the same baby things so no judgement but I’ve found it’s really easy to save on that. I make baby overnight oats using normal porridge with mashed banana, lunch I roast a few sweet potatoes for a few days he has that with chickpeas or avocado or almond butter or some scrambled eggs then for dinner what we are having or if he doesn’t like that I have frozen fruit smoothie mixes in the freezer just whizz it up and it’s like a pouch but cheaper and you can add some spinach to make it healthier even though I buy organic all this only adds up to about £10 😘

I really enjoyed watching this! Now I’m in a completely different because I’m a uni student so obviously lead a different lifestyle, but I find bulk buying things that can be kept in the cupboard and I know will use a lot saves so much money - for example you can get a hugeeeee bag of pasta in ASDA which will save money in comparison to buying it every week. I check mysupermarket for deals on branded stuff and top up (so this could help with the baby stuff and stock up when it’s cheaper instead of buying it in weekly batches). I also find shopping online is useful because you can see your total going up whilst you’re doing the shop, rather than finding out at the end once it’s already scanned and then you can prioritise whether you really need certain items or you just bought them on impulse. Obviously I’m in a different position but I find researching deals and looking/shopping online saves so much money! X

We spend between 40 and 50 pounds a week (if my husband doesn’t come with me) and we have a family of 3 and a dog. I stick to my list and meal plan for each week to keep the costs down. I love this video Kate! :) the only suggestions i have is to not buy pre made pasta sauces. Instead by the cheapest passata and chopped tomatos cartons and just add your own herbs and spices. It tastes just as good. Also try using a slow cooker. It is a life changer. You can batch cook and make a meal last for 2 days including lunch and dinner. You can just alter what you have with it eg, salad, rice, jacket potatos. Slow cooker curries and chilli con carne are amazing!!!! Xx

We try to spend about £50 A week on 2 adults, one 6 month old and 2 cats. We can do it if we try but we do often go over, especially if we go out or get a takeaway. We mostly shop in Aldi. We are meat eaters but save by eating it less and making it go further as it is pricey! We are also weaning now and try to cook at home for the baby too. She does like those carrot snacks from Aldi, great to have in your bag.

Loved the video Kate, super useful. Love seeing what other people buy in their weekly shop. If you were looking for some tips, I’ve written a. Couple below. Obviously feel free to ignore them if you don’t agree, it’s your life and your food shop:) . 1. Try a meat free night once a week, it’s good for the environment, is good for your health, it introduces you to new recipes and it’s financially beneficial. 2. I don’t know whether you like fish or any seafoods, but they can be really good for you, high in omegas etc. Might be something worth considering. 3. Tins of chopped tomorrow’s are much cheaper than pre made pasta sauce, easy to chuck in a few herbs and spices, some garlic and you’ve got a homemade, cheap pasta sauce 4. As for the sweet treats. Totally get you! A tip I find useful, try buying a dark chocolate. If you’re not a fan, I wasn’t at the beginning, try something with caramel or sea salt, something to give it a little more flavour. It’s got less sugar than milk chocolate and a higher coco content. Plus because of its richness, usually you find you can only have one or two squares. Hope this helps :) lots of love xxxx

One tip or idea that has worked for me is I downloaded the Asda groceries app , I then do my shop on the app throughout the week as it just saves anything you add in your basket until you decide your done and if I see a new recipe or meal plan I can then search and add the ingredients and see cheapest alternatives. I then do click and collect my shopping, my local asda has a large fridge like area and your shopping is stored in your own fridge and you just pick it up . Iv saved so much money doing my shopping this way as I'm murder for adding things I don't need in my trolley xx

Love this food haul you should definitely do more! We have a family of 6 (myself, partner, a 2 month old baby, 4 year old, 5 year old and 7 year old) and every other weekend we also have my partners children for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On the weeks we don’t have the extra kids we spend around £150 a week on the food shop and the week we do have them around £180. That doesn’t include formula milk as my little one is on prescription milk but does include nappies, wipes etc. The price of food has majorly gone up recently so we definitely eat out a lot less than we used but on an average week we eat out at least once.

I absolutely love these kind of hauls! I find them so interesting, I love to see what kind of things other people buy and the meal plan ideas are really helpful as I'm always stuck for ideas! I overspend too and I'm trying to cut down.. I'm a single parent so it's just me and my 9 year old son and I spend £75+ for like a week and a half worth of shopping and I often find myself popping to the local shops throughout the week to pick up things too! I like to shop in Aldi as I do think I get a lot more for my money but again like you it's mounts up when you have to pop to Asda or Tesco etc to get the things you can't get at Aldi! Would love for you to make these a regular thing.. especially the meal ideas :) xx

If you bought a whole water Melon and cut it up in to portions and put it into lock and lock storage box and keep in the fridge. Must cheaper. Don’t but pre trimmed sprouts trim them yourself, make Yorkshire puddings instead of frozen much cheaper and they taste better.

I love food hauls, would love to see more, i always find it so interesting. I shop at Morrisons, we are a family of 4, we've got 2 girls aged 7 & 3. Our shopping bill on an average week comes to £55, if getting extras like washing stuff and household cleaning products and pull ups it may come to £60-65. I also get meat separately from a local butchers at that normally is £35 for a months worth of meat that i can freeze. xx

Shopping in aldi is definitely the way forward for saving money! To save even more money I make larger spag bol and cottage pie type meals then freeze them so that we can have them the following week which means the next week's shopping bill is lower as we don't buy as much. I definitely find buying meat hikes the price of my shopping up so I buy frozen chicken fillets now which are definitely cheaper then just take out of the bag what we need and defrost before cooking it. Jacket pots for a meal each week also cuts down on our spending too! X

You can get half watermelons that are the same size as the precut!! They’re probably not in season now but you’ll defo be able to find them in Asda and it saves on packaging!

'Snickers bars to get me through the week'- love it! :D We love Aldi, we have one that is a minutes walk away which is super handy. But it also means I pop in there most days instead of once a week... x

Good deal! £111 for a family of 4 and 2 dogs is quite amazing! I used to spend like a £100 for 2 and sometimes we used to go back to Tesco or Waitrose to pick up some stuff we forgot. In the end we used to spend like £400 in a month. That was crazy! I have to say we used to buy beef in Whole foods cause the taste was way much better than Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda ir even Waitrose. Love the video Kate!! Xxx

I'm impressed with your bill! My boyfriend and I work full time so find it really hard to go to places like Aldi or Lidl, especially when you can't always get everything you want in one place. I do our shopping online from Sainsbury's and spend about £100 for a week and half (sometimes can stretch it to two week) of meals. We eat pescatarian and so I think the money really adds up on Quorn products and fish. I also buy animal-cruelty free cleaning and laundry products which are always so much more expensive for brands like Method and Ecover!

Love food hauls especially Aldi. I have an app called ‘My Supermarket’ which lets you compare items from the major supermarkets (and boots and Superdrug?) it means if there are things you always buy that are branded you can see which shop is cheaper/has offers. It’s good for a price guide xx

I'm not veg but to save more money the only real way is cut down meat a bit maybe to twice a week for dinner and twice for lunch ... sub with protein from chickpeas ... black beans ... or buy smaller meat packs and bulk out with veg in Bolognese and shperds pie .. or make bigger Bolognese and shoereds pie and you have next days lunches as well ...i do a large bean curry on a.monday and hubby and i eat it for lunch for next 2 days ... rice costs pennies per portion and so do dried beans xx my weekly shop forn2 adults and a cat £35 plus maybe £20 -£30 max for weekends take out or meal out x

We had the same problem not long ago and I find it really helped me to go online first and do a pretend shop from whichever supermarket u would normally go to... for us that was Tesco and I wrote down the price of each item i need on my shipping list....then when I go to Aldi or Lidl I make sure that each item i'm buying is actually cheaper than what I have on my list from Tesco....I was quite surprised that not everything was cheaper in Aldi!! Xx

Spaghetti bolognese, cottage pie stuff like that I batch cook and store it on zip lock bags and just write on them with a sharpie. It tastes just as good when u have frozen it and recook it. U can do lots of meals this way. U don't spend any more extra time as your just cooking more of it once so saves time for next few weeks. X

We love a good haul :) Top tip would be that for all the chicken you are buying it's cheaper to buy 1kg rather than several smaller packs. We spend about £60 a week in lidl for a family of five. No babies/nappies for us though :)

Love food hauls! I've been a vegetarian for over 7 years and just went fully plant based last week! I am LOVING it! Did my first big food shop last week and spent about 100 bucks for 2 weeks worth of food. Not bad! It's only for one person though but still. Love your videos so much. xoxo

Yes I’d love to see more of these videos!! I think that’s a good price considering the baby milk & food etc. I feel like I’m spending more these days as I’m buying baby food now. I was organised at first making everything, but I’m not always organised enough. I do sometimes buy prepped veg bags and just steam them & blitz it & he loves that. X

if your boy won't eat what you put in front of him and he's starting to have what you are eating, maybe try blending it so it is just like the prepared baby meals you get him? and to lower your spending even more, you could also try blending fresh fruit for him (apples, bananas, etc) instead of buying those pouches, it would be definitely cheaper, plus if you freeze them in little lollipop moulds that would make a great treat for when it gets warmer. Also maybe try having a veggie day a week as vegetables are way cheaper than meat and it would also help bring your bill down xoxo
