Iceberg lettuce was the top food by weight that we fed my guinea pig when I was a kid, and he lived a happy life for 7 years with us. It's low in nutritional value and high in water, but I doubt it presents any health risks as long as you're feeding a variety of vegetables and grasses. Also, banana peels were his favorite food (we only gave them to him rarely, as a treat) but he wouldn't touch the actual fruit.

I'm a little confused by the Iceberg lettuce, I don't have Guinea Pigs anymore, but they lived to 7 and 8 years old (which I'd consider rather good) and ate Iceberg lettuce - they weren't fond of it so didn't eat very much but they did eat the leafier parts of it. They also ate a lot of spinach, absolutely loved them and it never caused any problems. The first to die, died due to her teeth growing too fast at the back and causing an infection which stopped her eating, and the second simply lay down one day and just died peacefully.

You can feed a guinea pig cauliflower. When I got my little guinea pigs, they came with a fruit, vegetables, herbs and plants list. Cauliflower is on the vegetable list. It says it is high in Vitamin C. But you have to feed sparingly because it might cause a upset tummy if you feed it too much.

Guineapigs can eat ice burg lettuce , cabbage, and cauliflower , I think your just a little over the top my guineapigs ate these and loved them had no problems I kept them outside and they lived to 7 and a 1/2

Iceberg lettuce is actually completely fine as long as it's not fed in large amounts. And my guinea pigs eat apples and they're completely fine. Do you get your "knowledge" about guinea pigs from just one cite?

no,they are herbivores not vegetarians ....learn the difference! Herbivores=animals who naturally can only eat vegetables vegettarians=animals who chose only eating vegetables,aka humans...it is a cultural movement not a condition. vegetarians...pff ( im talking about the concept here, not the human veggies).

Zucchini is better than Cucumbers... as Zucchini you can give every day and Cucumbers only once a week... Cilantro is another everyday and Romaine Lettuce
