The content of this video is to review Food Vac FM5200 model. In this video I go through how to use the FOOD saver food vac FM5200 Food Vaccum and provide some tips and opinion.
I am going through a life style change and wanted to find a way to meal plan better. Aside from this review i did not want to mix my crafting channel with shopping, talking, or cooking. Hope you enjoy and subscribe.

Let me just say how much I appreciate this video. The fact that you have paid attention to the detail of requiring about 3 inches of space at the top of the bag between the item you’re freezing and the edge is INCREDIBLY important. Out of all the videos I have watched about this this food saver, no one has pointed that out. In addition, THANK YOU, thank you and thank you for pointing out that you need BOTH hands to push the vacuum seal bar for it to start. With MUCH APPRECIATION. ❤️

Aww thank you so much! We should actually do an update but life got in the way, we compared regular zip lock vs food vac food by taste and I have to say, if you freeze both of them for 4-5 months, beef that was vac doesn’t have this frozen odor from ziplock. :)

I didn’t know that……. Also, you’re the first one I’ve seen who said you have to press down on the bar. I could not understand how they were doing that because nobody said that before ……

Thank you for making it easier to use this sealer! Had another one & told my caregivers not to let liquid get inside the machine, leave at least 3 inches at the top & if wet (put in freezer so liquid freezes) & now know which buttons to push! One person refused to watch video & broke my other one (if used correctly they work) & saves your foods for much longer!

I want to give you my sincere thanks for your tips in this video. I have owned a Food Saver for more than a year. I have been frustrated that when I try to vacuum seal very moist meats, the bag often does not seal. I forgot 2 things. First, I forgot to press the “Moist” button on the machine. Second, I did not try to freeze the meat before vacuum sealing. Your video was very helpful.

I have been experimenting and also been trying to make an updated video but with Covid and limited time to get things done I haven’t had a chance to do an update yet. I def love my machine though. I even use it to reseal potato chips lol! Even seal gifts that I need to mail like T-shirt. You comment made me so happy and giving me motivation to think of more things to make as well

Great video. When it comes to cheese like the slices you showed in the last pic, I find that cutting down little squares of butchers paper and placing them between the slices like you will find in precut slices at the deli, the cheese won’t stick together. But as you kind of talked about, you have to watch that it doesn’t crush the cheese. Every type of cheese has a different firmness so will require more or less vacuuming.

Yes that is so true! Thank u for pointing that out. That was when I first got the machine. Not going to lie, now I use the machine to seal my chips too lol or my spicy that comes in plastic bags but don’t fit in my spice jars all at once :)

I’ve had several different models of Foodsaver vacuum sealers over the last 15 years. kzfaq.infoUgkxLarn2Zt7095D2lp3tN-bj5JtYPg3Wz2 I picked up the Nesco unit because it consistently receives top reviews it all across the Internet. Get this if you’re serious about vacuum sealing. This is the most have unit. The only tiny annoyance is not being able to lock the lid when you put it in storage that is such a tiny nitpick however, it’s almost worth not mentioning.

I just ordered this sealers a few minutes ago. I'm excited. I have had the same sealer 25 years LOL. I needed a new one. I want to seal quart jars. Have you tried that?

Yay! I have love this food saver so far. We used it to even seal smaller onesies we customized as gifts. We have another KZfaq channel for crafting which is kzfaq.info if u ever plan on getting a Cricut lol.We haven’t been able to find any jars but I have used this www.foodsaver.com/food-storage-bags-and-containers/vacuum-food-containers/foodsaver-fresh-containers-4-piece-set-with-2-produce-trays-and-container-adapter/FA4SC3355T2-000.html and my wife loves it. With the tight seal, it has kept the meat fresh for us. We don’t get endorsed for this brand or machine so these are def honest opinion because my wife angie was so happy to get this machine. This is her first one so so far it’s sweet. She is trying to find time to report out what she has found to work well with this machine when vac-ing

I was behind on my jar dry canning, quarts and pints, mainly. This sealer works like a charm. About 8 dozen jars later, I can report that it works great. Just like with other dry canning, it’s necessary to wipe the jar rim to get a good seal.

Ok, so I heard you mention you must push out air as its vacuuming because it doesnt do it automatically? Can you elaborate? Was it an issue on your part or a flaw in the machine? I'm asking because I'm trying to purchase one. Currently view this specific model. What is your opinion now that some time has passed since posting this video ?

Yes I pushed some to help it. I realized if I slice the meat it doesn’t seal as well unless u freeze it first. It works better with bigger pieces and if you freeze that a little too it seals a lot better. I still like it and have tested other bags and they don’t work as well as food savers. I compared the food frozen with the food saver bags and zip lock and it taste fresher. Due to covid I have sealed food for 2 months at a time so I don’t have to go out and I have been pleased with it so far. I can’t wait til we move so I can have a better controlled fridge instead of sharing it.

I have this sealer, never have to push air out, the vacuum pulls it out. Make sure your product is not in the way of the sealing hatch like the top price of meat looked like it was in the video. The sealing is much quicker then this shows, particularly the first example.

NP i hope you enjoy the machine! it's a great one. I also use the deal to make my bags for other things smaller or reseal potato chip bags so it stays fresh a little longer lol

I’ve had mine for awhile and have cleaned it but never could figure out how to really clean it. The customer service is a joke and I searched here and can’t find any help mine is a 5200. Anyone have any ideas?

Do you mean the removable tray or which part? I’ve used minor soapy towel to clean it and time to time I do use bleach water

The gray tray that holds the juice is removable :)

How do you operate to get just a second seal and not vacuum?

Where you put the bag in to get the originals seal on the bottom if you need to get it seal again u can do if that’s what u are asking

Why is mine leaving a little bit of air left in it? I’ve seen my mom use it plenty of times. I must be doing something wrong...

It also likes to when items are more solid, so that’s why I suggested freezing just a little helps with certain meats like ground meat. :)

I almost bet the first bag you had to push the seal button came unsealed. You had it too close and it creased on the left side. I am on my second one and the right hinge has broke again. Temp hinge with duct tape.

As I use this more now I realize having at least 3 inches on the top makes it work better. :)

@@AnGeezChannel yes I did and I sent it back to be replaced. Bought a cheap one $30 til it gets back. I use it every day. Been sealing since the early 90's.

Mine still work, it didn’t get unseal but I realized it likes solid food more. So far, since it’s my first I’m happy with it. It keeps the meat more fresh than zip lock if I froze it for a few months :)
