Ive definitely been getting heel pain after playing ball. I have never had that pain before. I am now 42. It takes about 2-3 days for it to go away with rest, but once I play again it comes back. Ive been using lots of different shoes, but it doesn’t matter. I can see how this would effect an athlete that has to play everyday. Old age never loses😂

Never understood why shoes soles are not 'segmented' just like human feet. Seems like a logical design. Kd9 if not mistaken was kinda like this and combined with zoom it was comfy.

Wouldn't having the heal sink lower than forefoot create a negative offset thus putting more pressure on the plantar fascia? I've had other shoes that did this and my foot doc at the Syracuse Va hospital said that could be one potential causes along with flat feet coupled with inadequate arch support.

Have both the 19 and 20 and have been playing in both recently. The 20's only problem is traction on a dusty floor. The new traction pattern collects dust easily and traction loss is significant without wiping. Fit and feel are fine, and it is of course a good bit lighter than the 19s.

I'm no foot doctor but my last job i was walking on concrete for 8-9 hours a day. That being said I learned that after so many miles you need to replace your shoes. I was hooked on ultraboosts but for me after about a year the shoe's boost would flatten out a bit and not squish as much. This would cause tons of foot pain and it wouldn't go away until I replaced my shoes. Then I thought maybe I will try new balance 990v4. I wore those to work and after about 6 months my feet were killing me. So me trying to save a few $ and not buy a new pair of shoes I decided to replace the insoles which made the shoes somewhat more comfortable. I used the shoes for another 2-3 months before they hurt too much to wear and I had to get something new. Basically get yourself a new pair of shoes at least once a year. If you are more active then probably 2 or more pairs per year.

I just had bunion surgery I think Lebron would get another 5+ yrs if he took a year for surgery and rehab P.s. Nike start making shoes with wider toe box and mid foot

Bet good money Lebron will be playing with more air in his shoes next year. Anytime he has a injury in something and it could possibly be the shoes he runs from it like the plague design wise the next year. Hell if it persists after all star expect to see him in something else.

basketball shoes aren't the best for your feet. I would recommend barefoot shoes for everyday use.

Yeah it’s uncommon outside of the running space but it’s more common for shoe to be slightly better or slightly worse for that vs actually causing it

Anthony Davis is averaging 37pts and 20 rebounds his last 3 games wearing the Lebron 20s, so nope it ain’t the shoes. Lebron’s feet are just a lil different and I believe it’s because of the wear and tear of the grueling season, playoffs and all the Finals appearances.

It’s absolutely his shoes. Have you seen his hammer toe? Modern shoes, in general, are the problem for most people with foot pain. Because of the elevated heel, the excessive cushion on his shoes, and the “arch support” orthopedic inner sole, his feet are weak. It’s sad that these NBA players are uninformed about what their “footwear” is actually doing to the health of their foot. Humans aren’t supposed to be in these type of shoes. Our feet are beautiful and sophisticated. Why would you want ruin your feet by stuffing it into these horribly designed shoes? I’m extremely passionate about this topic so if what I say seems false, I challenge anyone to look into the damage modern day shoes do to our feet.

He has custom made lasts it has nothing to do with his shoes- bunions and hammertoes are largely hereditary hence why people who go shoeless still get them- feet are designed to walk on sand not asphalt, wood, or concrete - barefoot has merits but it’s not a treat-all or everyone would be making them and marketing the living daylights out of it- I’ve looked at all the research on this countless times- there’s no grand conspiracy - barefoot is good for certain foot types and tibial torsion amounts and not for others

You understand the anatomy of the foot. You are an expert in the field, would you say that arch support sincerely helps people? We have muscles in our feet for a reason. If you don’t strengthen them, they atrophy and with that comes pain and soreness. People get corrective surgery on bunions that, in most cases, can be fixed by eliminating the issue that a narrow toe box creates. And regardless of the fact that his shoes are custom fitted, the design is still the same. An elevated heel creates an unstable base. It creates a misalignment, forcing other muscles to overcompensate. The striking of your heel on the ground can not be done without the cushion the heel provides, so is it natural to the foot? I do not discredit your knowledge. You have worked hard to be in a position that you are today. I do not make this information up. All I want is for people to be aware of the damage caused by the modern shoe.
