I had a request to show how to strengthen your feet and make your toes more mobile. I put this little exercise plan together to stretch your feet and toes and build strength in your feet and toes.
These easy foot mobility exercises can be done just about anywhere. Done regularly they will make for strong feet that are more mobile. The workout includes a little stretching to improve flexibility before starting the exercise progression.

In namaz we use our right foot only. Not both feet. Stop connecting everything to religion

I have stiffening toes over a looong time. Have tried many exercises and tips. Amongst tips the toespreder. Doing the finger-toes exercise while folowing the video- it helped immediately in a activating way. Thanks for this and I am sure also the other simpel and effective exercises

My toes used to kill me during jiu jitsu but coach always reminded everyone to stay active on their feet when in someones guard so we can push off without readjusting. He kept roasting people saying they have lazy feet and they might as well cut them off already if they're always gonna be useless hahahah people definitely started remembering to use their feet. He also said that having the tops of your feet down can twist your knee if you get swept awkwardly or with a lot of force and your foot and knee are stuck to the ground while you get pushed over it. Haven't heard of it happening to anyone yet but it makes sense to me

I have a turf toe and rehabbing in a baby steps, I’m working on my feet and toe joint and needed an exercise for like this, thank you. I’m feeling a little pain when putting weight on my left big toe but I believe it will get better by time.

I have learned that exercising and performing specific exercises due to problem areas are a lot of work but will help very much. Anything that keeps us more flexible and increasing the strength can only be beneficial.

@@DoctorBen Still do this twice a week. No foot pain at all. Walk one hour each day and run 2 miles twice a week. No foot issues. Make your feet strong. Do these drills!!!

It may. It’s not a certainty but more movement through a large range of motion can help alleviate cramping.

My pinky toe seems to bend outwards when I curl my toes. This was a result of a stingray incident two years ago that may have damaged the tendon. My doctor told me to try continually grasping a towel with my toes and that the tendon was weak. Not sure what exercise to do other than manually curling my toe as I put resistance on it with my finger.

It is possible. Collapsed arches may require more specific foot and ankle exercises to correct.

I liked the stretches u showed in the beginning really liked it specifically the one when u put fingers in ur toe nobody ever showed that but The exercises u showed cannot be done by people who has arthritus in their knee cause I can’t bend my legs and sit on them instead can u show the modified one thanks

You can put a bolster under you knees so that your knees are off the ground and you’re not putting as much pressure on them. You can make the bolster as high as you need to get comfort.

Hi Ben, for the full progression on the exercise, I have the ankle mobility to put my heels down when in the deep squat position. I don't know if you're staying on your toes on purpose in order to increase foot strength or is it better to go onto heels if I have the mobility for that?

Good question! For this one I’m keeping my heels up. This engages the muscles in my feet and toes more.

I’ve got serious problems with my whole right side of my body. Due to movement trouble in my right foot I think it can be a trigger to this big issue. I will be trying and start this session today and hopefully it can point me in a good direction in a wish to be free from pain🙏

Katy Bowman is one of my favorite references. She has an entire book on foot pain. The old title was Every Woman's Guide To Foot Pain Relief. It was recently updated and the title was changed to Simple Steps To Foot Pain Relief. I hope the exercises I provided help out and I hope you resolve your foot pain issues.

I have other videos on foot health if these exercises don’t work for you. If you were a client of mine I would look at your hip and ankle mobility to address the knee complaint before moving into exercises like this. Fixing movement patterns is usually not as simple as focusing on a single area.

You can use anything really. A towel rolled up, cushions, a ball, etc. You don’t have to use a roller. It just has to be something that can elevate your toes above your heel.

Sir how much time it will take to build an arch please tell me the time period I need a motivation for it I have no pain because of my flat feet when I move my thump upward it show me an arch but if I just stand on my feet my feet becomes flat because they are so kindly tell me the time period I’ll be very thankful thank you

This will help develop the muscles in the foot which could help. But you may need to do more focused training of your foot to fully develop the musculature and resolve pes planus. Overly structured footwear is the main cause. They immobilize the feet and alter the bone structure. The consequence is that the bones, connective tissues, and muscles in the feet can't support your weight.

@@fastingfocusedlifestyle6474 self massage of the muscle in the arch may help. Also tight calves can cause problems in the feet as well. So stretching and self massage can be beneficial there as well.

If it hurts to do this then you shouldn’t do it. If it doesn’t hurt you’re probably ok. But you may want to check with your doctor first to be sure.

Doctor Ben it’s been 3 months and I’m still recovering from the injury . There’s no broken bones from x Ray.. not sure if i should walk everyday even tho there’s discomforts at Night and twitches ..

If it’s a sprain they can take up to 18 months to heal. Some self massage may help too.

If you doctor hasn’t told you no and it doesn’t cause pain then it could be very helpful. I’ve personally also had good luck with doctor christphers bone and tissue ointment to help speed up healing for things like that.

It’s ok to use support keep practicing and work on using it less. Eventually you won’t need it.

Conventional medicine isn’t always on board with this stuff. If you’d like to really go deep with it, check out the foot collective. They’re physical therapists who’ve focused on foot health.

@@priyankabarnwal1919 It depends on the cause of the falling arch. It may help. Also it is not uncommon to have pain in the toes if they're not used to the movement. You may need to not start with such a strong bend in the toes.

Start from the top and slowly work your way down. Using props is essential. It may takes weeks or months but with regular work most everyone can restore that mobility.

There are better ways to address bunions. You need to correct the tension on the big toe to resolve bunions. I really like the product correct toes to help with this. One of the biggest things you need to do to address bunions is change your footwear. A shoe with a wider toe box will stop squishing your toes together and address the underlying issue.

This shouldn't cause pain. You may be using more range of motion than you have yet. Put your knees on a bolster until your feet have stretched out more.

You can use bolsters to set yourself up in a range of motion that doesn’t cause any pain. But you should focus on getting the root cause of the knee pain.

From a fellow flat footer, these exercises will strengthen your feet and alleviate foot pain, but it will not cure flat feet.

We Muslim do this stretch at least 32 times in our daily prayer. Our whole prayer is just like whole body workout.

Toes sitting and standing, Muslims do in prayers 5 times a day (5 sets) . Tq for demonstration.

It depends more on mobility than age. You could reverse the process and start from standing and slowly build your range of motion to the ground over time.

I can’t do the exercise where you’re curling the toes while standing and putting pressure on them… I’m not that flexible yet.

You can practice this with less toe flex by putting bolsters under your knees. Gradually decrease the height of the bolsters as you adapt to more toe extension.

You can. There are many exercises you can strengthen your feet and develop more coordination.

It shouldn’t hurt to sit like that. If it does your body has lost that range of motion. It will take time to reacclimate.

I’m so sorry about the slow response on this! I know I typed something up for you, but I don’t see it here now! There are a few options depending on your mobility. You can use bolsters under your butt and knees to limit the movement to a smaller range of motion. You can do the movement seat, basically seated calf raises. This will eliminate any pressure on your knees, but it will also limit how much training effect you get on your toes because of low loads. You could also just do basic standing calf raises. I know a guy who had both hips and a knee replaced and still does Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. Don’t let it get you down. I wish you good movement and a good day!

You can put a bolster under your knees as high as you need to so you can reduce the stretch. Lower the bolster over time as you mobility will allow.

The big toe is stronger than the other toes and it should be worked separately

Yes you can work with each toe individually. This is not a comprehensive foot training routine. Just a starting point.
