Fortunately this trucking company hauls food like frozen meals and not anything very heavy. If she was hauling anything heavier it probably would have given way. But she got very lucky with the bridges welding and the massive beam that held the trailer down.

I was looking at that too, I get it was a pretty significant crash but losing steering in an 18 wheeler seems like a really big deal, even after a crash. Sounds like a bad design or maybe just an unfortunately placed pickup truck. Hope that person is alright.

The cause of the accident was a driver who had a suspended license so he has obviously driven dangerously before this. The truck driver stayed in her lane, the other driver crossed over into her lane. It's obvious that suspending someone's license doesn't guarantee that they wont continue to put other drivers at risk, they simply don't care.

Coast guard shouldn’t receive praise for going into dangerous waters saving sailors from falling overboard or a sinking ship, it’s just their job. Search and rescue shouldn’t receive praise when they have to pull people from raging floods. Firefighters shouldn’t be praised when they put themselves in danger trying to save someone like in this scenario because it’s just their job. It is their job but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t praise them for risking their lives doing their jobs. It takes a certain selfless person to go into harms way to save another person and most people are unwilling to do it, at least for the current pay that most of these people get.

Hence why she tried to correct the vehicle, but was unable to due to the impact. This led to her vehicle’s hood falling off the bridge. “Some” people in the comments are blaming her for crashing into the rails and going off the bridge. These are the same people who get into car crashes and blame the other side when they themselves are the main purpose of the crash. These people need to get their driver’s license revoked and their cars repossessed.

And just reacted when it was already too late. 2 Lessons here. (1) Don't speed, (2) When you car break on a highway or bridge Put Hazard light on, make it obvious for car coming behind

It seems that the pickup truck turned to the right lane to try and beat the trucker (to pass them), but they didn't see the parked vehicle in the left lane; so then swerved over to the right, ultimately hitting the lady in the video. Evidence: The other two parked cars behind the pickup truck in the right lane. Why are there parked cars in the right lane with no hazards on!?! This lawsuit is gonna be crazy. Who do you think will be liable for the damages? The parked cars with seemingly no hazard lights on? Or the pickup truck driver? Nevertheless, everyone involved in the accident has learned a very valuable lesson. For the driver, it will probably haunt her as she will never cross that bridge ever again.
