Almost cried seeing the Wolves come up. And it is so good seeing some of the old NSL clubs included. Also i think the northern territory and Tasmania MUST have a team involed, we all deserve to have a club close to home that we can support and be involved with.

It's really pleasing to see these great clubs with wonderful histories forming the Natiional Second Tier. I'm very happy for all of them and I don't begrudge any of them being selected. However, we've ended up with 4 Sydney clubs, 3 Melbourner clubs and an NSW regional club. (Or 3 Italian clubs, 2 Greek clubs, one each Croat & Macedonian club plus the Wolves). I can understand the economics of limiting travelling costs and leveraging off the existing financial strength of those great clubs but it still looks like FA chickened out of forming a proper representative national second tier and investing in it.

Similarly concerned to see this is currently only "resurrecting" (really) Sydney & Melb NSL *MENS* clubs, instead of fostering an ACTUAL *NATIONAL* 2ND TIER. *NOT* impressed this isn't immediately organised to include womens 2nd tier Typical, shortsighted pandering to the old (male) establishment instead of creating a genuine new *national* vision for "expansion. 🙄

Hopefully the other clubs come from other states, because so far only Victoria and NSW are represented, not really "national" persay.

Why not pick one foundation club from every State/Territory...that'll be 8 teams straight up. Then you add (maybe) the next 2-4 other foundation clubs to make 10-12 team comp.

These teams actually have the financial backing and community. Like let's be real Sydney and Melbourne have the largest and oldest clubs in the country. So don't give up yet. We want to see more western states involved and poor old Queensland

Don’t you come to Tasmania Mr Johnson. Tassie the only state with no team in either the ALeagues div one and two. You are clearly not interested in fostering the game here. I am disgusted.

I’m in the NT and like Tassie would love to have a club represent us. However… you need to have the population and the commercial backing. Both your state and my Territory don’t have either. We don’t have billionaires who are going to bankroll Darwin nor Hobart. Small beginnings.

Those 8 clubs are fantastic. The players, coaches and staff all have the ability to compete in the a league. Unfortunately no NT or Tasmania team could compete with those 8 involved. It’s not about fairness, it’s about having the ability to progress and win.

@@patrickwilliams2554 well said Patrick. Personally think regions like NT and Tasmania would do well to affiliate themselves with a club similar to what they do in the AFL. Try to snag a fixture or two a season, streamline a pathway for young talent, etc.

Without promotion or relegation, this league is toothless. I wouldnt want to try and sell those tv rights without it being within a pyramid. Without it you have another stand alone league of teams. Who would want that?

Ethnic equals traditional grass roots football. They tried plastic it didn’t work. Need to bring the two together. The smell may be coming from your upper lip.
