Both Messi and Cr7 played a few unofficial games like this but their goals were never added to their all-time total. Pele scored 13 goals in the military, those are the only goals that you can discount (it’s still 1266). The others were all taken seriously, with harsh tackles and crowds of over 100,000. In fact, Pele toured around the world, mostly Europe to play those matches. European teams mostly fielded their starting lineups, yet Pele’s Santos won most of those games. Pele scored 205 against Europe’s elite, and 304 more in other serious, “unofficial” matches. One match against Inter Milan amassed a crowd of over 100,000. Against AC Milan a crowd of 132,000. So yeah, they were a big deal.

No one will ever break that 91 calendar year goals that was also recognised in the Guiness book of world records.Even during the traditional error when there were no offside rules no one could do it.For messi to do that in the modern era of the game is pure genius.I just find it difficult for anyone to ever reach that unprecedented milestones when legends like even pelle n the king of records in Cr7 hasn't been able to replicate.Actually Cr7 the same year in 2012 scored 69 goals which is his highest ever in a year.That figure was matched and equalled by Lewandowski last year in 2021.91 is just but a tall order for anyone to even attempt to break.
