In rugby you can kick at any time in open play, so they are designed to be kicked. In American football the balls are designed to be thrown well.

In the retro rules of Australian Rules Football the ball could be thrown. They changed it to a volleyball- like handpass.

The ball used to be big and rounder like a rugby ball until the 1930s. Then the NFL reduced the size and pointed the ends to make it better for throwing.

Rugby ball is meant to be kicked with accuracy from the sides if you score a try (downward pressure of the ball touchdown) from the edge of the end zone.

as a kicker this is very frustrating to here him say a 20 yard field goal while he only hit a 10. in football as kickers we don’t count the end zone as yards. so an extra point would be 10 yards not 20 and 15 not 25

U should try kicking a Steeden, there what the NRL use here in Australia. There shape is a bit diffrent to that of Gillberts, and they kick a little diffrent. if u know what I mean. Also u may want to try diffrent tees, like the NFL tees Vs Rugby tees.

As a rugby fan mens international kickers regularly knock shots over from 50 metres without even taking altitude into the occasion and the ball likely gets kicked a lot more so this is cool but unsuprising.
