You know, TWICE in this video McNabb's play in Dallas was mentioned by the commentators. It's so much the quintessential "Best Effort" play TWO of these plays reference it, and yet it is not on this list. And, you know, looking at it again, the Russel Wilson plays just beat it.

That Ben Watson play is one of the best hussle plays I've ever seen. Especially because of the angle of the TV broadcast. He comes out of nowhere. Also, I'll go to my grave believing Bailey fumbled that out of the end zone.

that play's legendary - knew it had to be included in this video. if you see the wide angle, Watson is running a pattern on the far side of the endzone from where the pick happens, and still manages to run him down. i was too upset about the pick at the time to fully appreciate it, but watching it back it was incredible

Great video. Two observations. One, I'm glad it showed both offensive and defensive effort plays. When it's the greatest defensive plays or the craziest touchdowns, you know the end result of every play, but not with these. Two, the greatest effort play in a Super Bowl in my opinion did not make the video. Super Bowl 25, Buffalo and the Giants, Mark Ingram on 3rd and 13 on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter.

It meant nothing. If beebe (23 catches a year) wants the fame, so be it. Beebe is the only guy on the planet that refers to playing on the losing super bowl team as earning a ring. (Yeah, I know they do get a ring.) He wrote a book about earning six rings. Delusional. (And according to favre, beebe didn’t even suit up in one of his super bowls.)

Lived outside in Europe for 33 years. Coming home last year and having closely observed the pros (old enough to have seen G Sayers in his prime), I find the athleticism of current NFL players just amazing! Quarterbacks that are as fast as corners, for instance. I was a Packers fan in the 60's, the Bart Starr years. Those teams wouldn't stand a chance in today's game. I have questions, maybe I'm naive but do the gloves the players use artificially increase their catch capability? I mean substantially more than barehanded? From what I've seen what used to be called "showboating" is a performance and part of the expected entertainment value of the game. Guys would have pulled off the field for that stuff back in the day.
