I'm an Arsenal fan of over 30 years and that was an epic bottle job this season. If Arsenal lose the league on goal difference or by a point or so this season you can't say it's a bottle job but you can raise the question if Arteta is actually good enough to cross that fine line or not. If he isn't he needs to go.

Yea right. Like we were ready last season going gong hole and ending up getting slapped because pep played a different way which was unusual of him. We had the better chances in the game this year but didn’t make them count. Not making the chances count was what I was disappointed with but very happy with the way arteta adapted his tactics.

Agreed. Issue is that there are no givens. What manager could come in and guarantee a PL victory? Not even Pep won them all, not even the legendary Klopp could win the league more than once with one of the best teams in history at the time. Sadly Arteta will not stay 20 years at Arsenal no matter how it goes. But you can be sure that City won't wait to snatch him and keep winning the PL's under Arteta. Enjoy that we have what could be a generational manager - yes he's has alot to learn just like all the legends had to do. Going back to "proven winners" from other times in football is stupid. As a fan I'm just enjoying the ride - the two past seasons have been the best I can remember - let's see if we can take it all the way!

@@franklinmbeans it's true that very few managers (if any) can guarantee a league title but the fact remains Arteta has had 2 bites of the cherry and has failed both times to win the league (providing he doesn't win the league this season which I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say he won't.) Which ultimately raises the question: How long to wait until you give someone else another shot? It's more hope and excuses from Arsenal fans that they will win something major under Arteta more than anything else. 5 years and 700 million spent just to be happy "competing" and getting top 4 each season is a pathetic standard. He has built a decent first xi (he is actually terrible at building a bench or full squad) so the tools are there for someone else to come in and get them over the line if he can't. And as for the answer who else would you get? You could get an experienced manager who has won things or go with another novice like Xabi Alonso (the guy Arsenal fans wish Arteta was.)

I get what you’re saying but Arsenal gotta stick with Arteta. He’s got you back challenging and ultimately he’s up against an oil nation with one of the greatest managers ever. We have a team full of youngsters that are doing these things for the first time, just as Arteta. The "get someone that has already done it" is an argument I dislike. 1. Because of fandom- I dont want a chelsea legend coming and get us a title then fuck off and let us rot for seasons and seasons (see every team that got Mourinho to get the deal done). 2. The real reason: NO ONE has done it until they done it. Every legend didnt win it until they won it.
