@@metalsadman Its just a great bike, so handy and manoeuvrable. The engine has more than enough power and sounds realy nice. Also the clutch does what it should do. the only thing i noticed so far is the handles are a bit thin, i will put some rubber or so on it :-)

Firstly great to see Fanie back in the saddle, I've missed the laurel and Hardy banter between you guys, the negativity Pierre tut at you being a AT rider as well 😂😂 The transalp definitely seems to have some appeal and looks to be a great all rounder, something that's probably going to be idea starter mid level adventure bike, still a shame as you guys mentioned no protection on the bike as standard, I appreciate you can go buy the sump guard but if a bike is designed to target a certain market it needs to be ready to ride off the standard, the sump plate you can but looks a little thin as well compared to some of the more durable types I've seen, I totally agree with bars for protection on the upper sections definitely a must have, Thanks for such another non bike journalist review on another bike, Be good to see a comparison between the V-strom and Transalp on the dirt handling, P.S So how long before your fully back in the saddle Fanie your holding up the adventuring and we all need our FPD fix 😂😂😂😂

I knew that engine was going to be a fire cracker! Just amazing the quality of adventure bikes being released nowadays. I would like to know more about the suspension though, as suspension quality is what seems to set bikes in the adventure bike segment apart. Tell us a bit more about the Transalp’s suspension please. Is it off road worthy?

Hi there! The suspension is very soft. It obviously makes for a comfortable ride, and if you attack extreme rocky track, the easy travel and "give" in suspension absorbs a lot of the impact that your arms and core has to asborb. But, on extremely rough tracks the ground clearance isnt that much, and that pointy sump at the bottom becomes a problem over big rocks - hence the necessity for the bash plate. Again... it only becomes an issue once you ride enduro bike type trails. But, for the type of riding we do... it might be worth it to stiffen and lift it slightly. The average South African adventure rider weighs around 100kg's and is 1.8m plus tall. Hence, the neccesity. There are some very affordable aftermarket options we are looking at, that will make this XL750 lean more towards a dual sport-like setup. Keep an eye on our socials in about a months time. 😉

@@PierreBreytenb yah I don't understand what they did with that pointy oil sump @.@, for sure Rally Raid will have something cooked for this bike sooner or later. Hopefully they don't increase the price of this bike in December where I plan to buy it, it's priced very competitively where I am under 10k euros for base model.
