Its sad that Janet will ALWAYS be compared to Michael and not really recognized for her own talents... She done AMAZING in this film.... btw, I love Michael too!!!...

they ALL should have gotten an Oscar for this. It's a damn shame.

hell they should have, this movie made me cry, smile, learn and feel empowered as as a young woman of color (I'm peruvian and latina) and as a human being that love is part of our life, happy ending and story, we must learn to love, forgive and believe in others and ourseleves but also that no matter how dark or bright life can be, there is always hope and we must never give, thats what this movie taught me when I first watch when I was twenty years old back in 2010, this movie is legendary and heartwarming

I love the way she delivered this scene. One of the only clear scenes in an incredibly powerful film. If they were all this clear and if the movie was more fluent... It would take home some pretty prestigious awards.

This scene kind of hits close to home for me, because a similar situation happened years ago to a beloved family member of mine. A dude she was dating was on the downlow-unbeknownst to her, until a few years later when she "mysteriously" came down ill. She sadly succumb to the illness in early 2015, but this scene was like an instant reminder. Ladies be very, VERY careful who you sleep with, and always ALWAYS get tested and but more importantly; make sure your PARTNERS get tested as well. I will never sleep with any man who doesn't get tested, and I will ask man Im to show me the actual damn results.

I cried through the whole book when I read it...now seeing it acted out with such intensity and realism...the fount is open all over again in even greater force!!!! I love it...it tells the truth about feelings situtations and circumstances that I have known about and seen throughout my life. God bless Ntozake Shange for writing this openly and honestly, God bless Tyler Perry for casting this so well, and Thank YOU for posting it!!!!

Sometimes, I forget that Janet has been through some hell in her life that she can use in whatever movie she's in. Let's not forget that she married James Debarge at 18 and found out while they were married, that he was a drug addict.

Its sad, but this was a powerful scene. the Down-Low mentality is not just in Black Male Culture in America, but other ethnic cultures around the world. What you have to understand is that whilst the church preach about understanding and forgiveness in civil rights, the do not equate Homosexuality to it. White Homosexual, have always had this liberty, as this is perceived as there struggle...this is a learning moment. Tyler Perry knows what's he's doing...[Madea]

Powerful Film with powerful performances by all the Ladies of For Colored Girls. I think this film was monumental for women of color as well as African American Film because it speaks volumes, it's not another shoot'em up gang bang flick, but a true to heart film with so much raw emotions. Tyler did an excellent job on this film & all of the actresses where Great.

@miamivicepastels83 I think she already knew. She said she saw the way he looked at them. And she also said she ignored everything in her to be with him, which to me says that while she noticed him looking at men a certain way, she probably didn't want to believe he was gay. But then she caught "the package" and couldn't ignore it anymore
