I'm glad. Parents appreciate that more than you would think. I love when my sons give me hugs. I'm sure very few people loved their mother as much as I did, and yet I'm sure I love my children even more than I loved my Mom. There's nothing that can compare to a love a parent has for his/her children ( I would imagine a mother's love is even greater than a Dad's ), and I don't think one can understand it until they become a parent.

For example, my Mom once told that if my Dad and I were both drowning ( Nevermind that my Dad and I both can swim fine ) and she could only save one of us, she would definitely let my Dad drown. As much as I love my wife, I'd certainly let her drown to save our kids ( and I'm sure she'd let me drown ).
