FOR SALE - Citroën SM 1975 2.7 electronic injection

Belgian Citroën SM in Or de Simiane, the car was delivered to Citroën Ijzerplein in Brussels where it was sold to a customer who took him to Bandol in southern France.
Since 2010 in the possession of his current owner who has had it restored with great love in
our workshop. The engine received a total overhaul a few years ago, the floor and bodywork were tackled early this year.

This is a very reliable SM, a pleasure to drive with and an excellent investment.

Our neighbour had one in the 70s , and the envy of all in street. Wonderful design and technology , before the Citroen fell into poor quality and poor design lines. They are still around in the form of PSA, made using nuclear generated electricity , opposed by early environmentalists and now the envy of German manufacturing gas & coal guzzlers 😜

Every injection electronique SM had a 3.0 engine. Only the carburated ones were 2.7l

I'm sorry, but I think that might be incorrect. Both the carburated- and later (from 1972) the injection electronique versions had a 2670cc (2,7 liter) engine. As far as I know, the 2965cc (3,0 liter) engine was used only for SMs with automatic gear, from Borg Warner.

@@sanderdegroot6628 SMs with automatic gearbox were very few and most of the exported in the US. From 1972 all engines were 3.0 and fuel injected

@@tasospappas6627 There might’ve been differences per country then, I guess? I mean, in general I suppose Americans have always had a preference for automatic gears, so no surprise there. Over here (in the Netherlands that is, I’m a Dutch guy), from 1972 - ‘75, I’m sure that the SMs (appr. 100 were sold back then) had the 2670cc-engine, which is confirmed by the original Citroën-leaflets from this era that I’ve always kept all these years🙂 Btw, I love your pics of the speedometer in your profile. So unmistakenbly Citroën👍!

@@sanderdegroot6628 I have heard from a swiss restorer that after 1972 all SMs were 3 litres. Probably have read it in Citroenet too. The picture in my profile is from a 1974 promotional video for the CX!

@@tasospappas6627 Afraid that's not correct. EFI was introduced in '73, but the engines were still 2.7lt. Only autos had the 3lt unit. Might have been different in the US.

yep, original spheres was repairable , the sphere on this SM are sealed (unrepairable): With special equipment, we could unscrew them, replace the membrane and refill with nitrogen...
