According to the United Nations, more than 11 million Syrians have been displaced due to Syria’s civil war. Seeking safety, these refugees are resettling in numerous countries around the world. In this short film from Go Project Films, we hear the story of one such refugee. After fleeing torture and imprisonment by the Assad regime, Mohammed Alsaleh was granted asylum in Canada in 2014. Today, Alsaleh aids newly arrived Syrian families as they adjust to life in Canada-while hoping and waiting for his own family to join him.

Dear guy in the video, if you stumbling upon all the heartless, miserable people in this comment section! people who don't know a thing about what it's like being in your shoes. people who don't have an opinion of their own and only follow the crowd. I just want you to know that you are a true hero!

I was sympathizing with this man until he said that "Syrians in Lebanon are not welcome, they cannot work, they cannot go to school"... As a Lebanese citizen, allow me to say what a bullshit sentence this is. If you just spend one day in Beirut you will realize that not only Syrians are welcome among the Lebanese, the city is turning into another Damascus. So I hope you correct this part of the documentary as it is as far as the truth as it can be. Syrians are working in restaurants, boutiques, malls, offices, construction sites. Schools are being built for them. It is one thing being a refugee, but being ungrateful is a whole other story. Please correct your sources.

Vera Noon I will have to agree with what you said i really got pissed of when he said that syrians are not welcomed in Beirut.I am a Lebanese citizen and the number of syrians i see per day is more than Lebanese,I mean Lebanon's population is 4 million and the number of syrians was about 4.5 million in 2015 . Another thing i would like to state is that syrians are taking all our citizens' jobs, there is a very huge problem of lay off in Lebanon because of rufugees and schools are filled with syrian students(those who can afford of course) . Finally i would you to edit the part of the video which said that because as you can see it is not at all accurate.THANKYOU

These fucking guys have lots of strenght to work in shitty places and to travel hundreds and thousands kilometers just only arrive another country for telling shit about their last. But they dont have a tiny cock for fighting for their country. Ungreatful whores

That was not my point, no need for such a vocabulary. I was just pointing out the fact that the countries who are receiving the most refugees are underrated and unappreciated.
@fusrodaha

That is your point. When a syrian gets a country that they doesnt like they will speak every lie; like we were stressed , we cannot do anything in that country, we were like prisoners etc. I didnt believed one word of this guy and he was probably saying every word like: "ı hope they pity me after this video."

It’s powerful when he said it’s tough to see your country get destroyed. I think that’s an important perspective that many people in the west don’t have. People here don’t always take into account what these people have gone through

I'm sixth generation Canadian - an Irish ancestor - Michael Lynch - came over the Atlantic ocean in 1845 fleeing one of many potato famines - he was illiterate and probably spoke only gaelic - went through the city of new York and went north into what was then called Upper Canada - farmed 40 acres near Barrie - and worked on the Grand Trunk railroad linking Toronto to Georgian Bay - his father became the the manager of that link... and so on - we start from no things to being good, great things - everyone deserves a chance

The "Free" Syrian Army (Sharia Syrian Army) attacked the Kurds in Aleppo. The Kurds in Sheikh Maqsood got shelled by the "Free" Syrian Army. If the Free Syrian Army was actually fighting for freedom they wouldn't have shelled the Kurds.

It's a shame the government is so strict on how many people can share a room, exceptions should be made for refugees obviously, should be made illegal to discriminate on number of people when dealing with them.

It is sad that people living in Syria or escaped from war and violence reigning in this land are believing that all this does lie in God's will, they believe that God is ruling the world... It is actually ruefully...

If they make can swear under oath and on camera just in case they are using taqiya, lies, to two things: 1. Israel has a right to exist as an eternal homeland for Jews and to protect its people and its borders 2. Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations then I am willing to help them. If not, they should be treated as terrorists.

I don't feel sorry for them at all. They used to have a good life, God education, and fairly good income compared to other nations. Then, they asked for freedom and have a civil war to determine who has a better freedom? They want freedom, now they have it during crossing the ocean and no nation wants them.

Ironegg freedom is a human right. The protestors in 2011 were heroes very brave heroes who asked for freedom and dignity and the freedom of the journalists and syrian children who were being tortured by the regime in their prisons they asked to free them, but assad responded with violence making protests widespread and then responded with more violence forcing the protestors eventually to hold guns to protect themselves from the brutal regime and making thousands of syrian soliders defect forming the FSA which then turned into civil war. Instead of blaming the murderer you blame the victim for provoking the murderer which makes no sense. If Someone I say I don't like you, does that give you the right to bomb me or torture me to death? No it doesn't but assad does that.
