Ben Winston definitely knows what he's talking about. Keep the monologue improvised and audience-free, and devote the rest of the show to the viral bits that showcase Corden's talents and interview style (Carpool Karaoke, Crosswalk The Musical, etc.). That's the best version of this show.

Honestly ,I never watched James consistently prior to pandemic .now, I can't wait for Monday to come . The best late night show ever . James is hilarious, witty, smart and I love your car karaoke. Keep up the good work. 👍😍

While I appreciate the need for an audience, but the way The Late Late Show with James Corden is produced is magical. The laughter from those most intimately involved in the show is beautiful. The true beauty of the relationships is so present, and the banter makes my soul happy. Please keep the opening the same going forward - I need to see Pete often!

Great interview with RuPaul! Agreed that this new Late Late Show format is golden and addictive - it's too easy to become invested in the running storylines from video-to-video. Prior to the pandemic, the only Late Late clips I watched were with guests on the show. Now, I go straight to their mono or catchups.

Amazing interview! I agree with others. I 100% L-O-V-E the new format that came about during the pandemic. It was great with the audience, but it’s even better with just the staff hanging out on set. Don’t change it back!

I now have a face to put with the "voice from above somewhere" (Ben)...nice! This is a lovely interview! It was good to hear that the opening of the show will remain for now...it's the vey best thing on late-night (or any time) ever! You could even expand it a bit post-Covid, with each of the staff having their own "bar stool/chair", going with the pub idea...just a thought. This show has sustained me through the past year and a half...thank you so much for being willing to do something new and different! The interplay between James and the staff is what keeps me (and so many others) coming back each night to pull up our own "bar stool" and join in the fun! Love you all!! 🧡

First of all, RuPaul, this was a fantastic interview, well thought out and very natural. I’ll be looking for more now. Secondly, this pandemic act 2 if you will of the Late late show has been fantastic and so welcoming. It’s such a fresh take on a old format I love it. The crew have become family to us viewers and we look forward to each episode. Please don’t change it

I didn't know I needed 40 minutes of these guys talking about their show, but now I know I did. I love the fact that it's all about having a great time, and we never get the sense that you're trying to mess (in a mean way) with your guests or try to trick them into making mistakes, there's enough of that mean spirited-ness out there, this is a welcomed reprieve. Amazing work, I found the show during the pandemic and it has brought me so much joy during a difficult time ❤️
@phillbucs3 жыл бұрын
I found this interview from another person whom recommend the video because of their conversation around the 32:00 mark about the decision to return back to normal with fans or maintaining the current situation that really truely emphasis that whole "get together at the bar" type of show that does indeed lowers the guests guard to where these superstars just appear to be regular people. Which may or may not help with repairing someones image. Like you, I couldn't believe that I just listened to 42min of a group of people talking about their show.

This isn’t a knock on Rob or Ben, but i kinda liked the mystery of not seeing their entire face or just hearing Ben ‘s voice over the speaker lol

The best part is getting confirmation that the monologue bits ARE indeed improvised and off the cuff. The whole Oprah thing was so perfect, it almost seems staged, and all the best bits seem to be organic and in the moment.

I know that having an audience has twice the electricity and energy to keep the momentum going as a late night show. But what James and the LLTT (a.k.a Late Late Trust TREE) crew is a phenomenon that we've NEVER saw coming, more electric and energetic as ever . A formula that it looks boring, but the banters and the level of trust to one Another, joke each other and have funny interactions with each other is a genius idea. I already said it before that it's good with an audience. But with the late late show, it's much better with no audience and watching like a reunion special with a lovely conversation. Thank you for listening to my TED FYC talk.

This new relaxed format they have is brilliant. So many followers of the show have asked for them to keep this format. And it seems the guests are more relaxed too. It can get "crying funny" at times.

Fully agree. I love late night without the audiences. James and Seth's shows became much funnier. I hardly ever watched them before the pandemic. Now that Colbert has gone back to "normal," I don't mind missing his show. The audience is so loud and annoying. The format with the host doing a monologue, then sitting at a desk and "interviewing" guests (most of them look alike celebs hawking their latest forgettable film,) then a band playing some musical number are predictably BORING. That format has been around since the 1950s. Things need to be shaken up and freshened up.

Love the show since the pandemic (and Harry, Niall, Louis and Liam ofcourse). I’ve been watching on KZfaq and really hope they find a way to make the monologue with an audience. It would be really fun to see the guests be a part of that as well. Can you imagine James telling a joke about the news and Harry styles pitching in with a joke? Or any other guest ofcourse. Best show ever would that be.

Intimacy is the key. Compared to this loosely guided banter between 10-15 friends (reminder: all of them very competent in their fields and experienced in show business), everything else feels wooden, even if the jokes are fantastic. This intimacy built its own jokes. Nobody can compete with that. It's almost like sex - even the most competent lover can't beat the intimacy. And here they have both. Also, it's interesting to see a bit of genre deconstruction, see the people making the show, some of them literally while they're making the show. Running gags with Pete and Nick Bernstein are hilarious, and basically all they ever do is their job and not much else. It's funny af

"ONE DAY MORE" was so freaking good I loved it so much !!!~ and to Ru Paul : you did such an outstanding job interviewing the 3 guys. Your questions were so well thought out and researched and I thank you so much for just allowing the guests to talk as long as they wanted to, until they'd finished their thoughts thoroughly, easily and could feel relaxed as they did. Too often, too many on t.v. rush their guests answers out of then, or interrupt all the time, stopping their train of thought. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job of interviewing them.
