My favorite verse: Remember: that giants sleep too soundly; that witches are often betrayed by their appetites; dragons have one soft spot, somewhere, always; hearts can be well-hidden, and you betray them with your tongue.

Same!! My second favorite is "do not be jealous of your sister. Know that diamonds and roses are as uncomfortable when they tumble from one's lips as toads and frogs: colder too, sharper, and they cut"

You can find this poem in Brian Froud's book; "World of Fairy". In end of the book, you will see an envelope, same texture as book. When you open it, you can find this with Brian Froud's lovely illustration. Lovely surprize from two nice man for their readers :)

Well he's certainly popular, I enjoy his writing for what it is, delightful and clever. It's not brilliant or anything, but it's his own art, and everyone ought to have the right to that.

Neil Gaiman is clearly a superhuman with knowledge of the other realms of reality and immortal beings. The Celestials gave the gift of complete knowledge of heaven and hell and fearie and the endless and so forth to Neil Gaiman so that he may write about it and warn us of the dangers out there and remind us that timothy will save us all... and that Shakespeare would've been nothing with out dream.

Might I ask then, exactly what graphic novels you'd consider to be exemplary, then? Or, in that sense, modern fantasy novels? I'd like to know what your comparisons are. Personally, I consider him a master, but I've always prefered his short stories to his full blown novels. I think thewy do better shorter than longer, save for American Gods. But of course, that's just me.

My thoughts on two of Gaiman's projects, "Interworld" can't wait to see if there's a sequel, loved it!!!! Read it in two days!!! Beowulf, I give it a 4 out of 10. Written very hastily, as though they threw the whole story together in fifteen minutes. Could have been much better, maybe better without Angelina Jolie. The best thing about Beowulf, Crispin Glover!!!

Scientology is a cult formed by L Ron Hubbard to win a bet with a fellow science fiction writer - one of them wrote a kickass novel, the other relied on people's gullibility - first to a million dollars won. Kinda wish mankind had gone with the kickass novel, but there you go. h.
