This has to be the most true blue review on KZfaq! Thanks for the video. I didn't follow what you were saying about the alu frame for the annex. Do you mean that you have a separate full annex packed away which you attached to this frame?

Hi there! Love your channel! My partner and I have been doing lots of research and have grown to like MDC Forbes12+ vans. How do you find your van?? Do you find it works a treat or have you encountered some issues along the way? If you’ve had any issues, has the company been responsive? We would love to hear some honest/real reviews as they’ve been hard to find online. This video has definitely helped! Thanks in advance! 😊

Hi Jase - Gr8 to see a review from someone on their pat-malone! Tossing up between XT12 or Forbes 12+ - I am by myself like u, but feel having the removable bunk would be good for ‘hitchhikers’ - ha ha. I live in NZ and coming over to do the Lap in a few months - bringing over my Ford Ranger I’m sold - 12+ is for me

Yeah mate it's a bloody awesome bit of kit and built like a tank. Mdc have ironed out all the little things now I've seen as my Forbes12 was the first one. The xt12 is narrow and stays in line with the vehicle but I drag this Forbes into some very remote and scrub filled places and it's no problems as long as you keep the jockey wheel tyre up and forward facing and be aware the rear tank is the lowest part at the back. I live in my Forbes12 and love it. 🇦🇺👍🤠

Hey Jase, couple questions😬 Mate is the front box alloy or steel?? Same with the fold out bed part is any of the alloy? Is the floor composite or insulated or just ply?
@hil71604 жыл бұрын
Jase gonebush Thanks for the reply, sucks about the difficulty you now face with any back to base issues to get sorted. All vans have issues, we have a external panel that cracked on our van that I’ve had to put up with on our journey around the block. I couldn’t order a head of arriving at a destination because they all wanted to inspect before ordering and it’s a 8 week lead time so not practical. When we passed through our Brisbane dealer got order placed continued north on our trip and it’s finally getting fixed after when we return next month. We have a 20 footer and are looking to down size for a go any where van for shorter trips, seriously considering the Forbes. Only real things I don’t are the flimsy looking awning and annex set up as well as the steel box. We camp a lot on the beach and can see stone chips rusting as well as the unnecessary weight not being alloy. We currently have a powder coated pull out kitchen that is rusting in places🙄
@hil71604 жыл бұрын
Jase gonebush Yeah new the projecta gear would be rubbish, not a problem for us as would be putting in our lithium batteries, charger and inverter from our current set up. That’s a bonus about the parking at the shops.. we currently would need three parks 🤣

Hey mate. Been looking at a Forbes 13. Your awning... it comes down at the sides for more enclosure/shade. An mdc option or no. What’s the sub frame about and anti flap kit?The pantry - does that come with the slide out stainless draw/racks as standard? Did u get Waco fridge seperate to fit fridge compartment or did mdc advise to buy?
@jasegonebush18833 жыл бұрын
I made a new awning design and the sides are a combination of Aussie Traveller Anti flap kit and I bought the end walls from Cairns Caravan Accessories. And the kitchen didn't come with the Webber BBQ slide I made that as well. My MDC Forbes12 didn't come with a fridge its something I bought. The slide fits a dometic 75 fridge/freezer but I modified my slide to fit the 95L. Hope that helps a bit

The end walls are made by www.supex.com.au The material is twice the strength and because it's thicker it repels light rain and still you have protection from the wind but allowing you to have privacy.
