The wheels have been forged and are in motion, and there is little we, the few, can do to change it. There would have to be a United movement. We just do not have a vote in the matter and will be convinced it is for our safety. Meanwhile bitcoins and other digital currencies will be openly available to those in power and they will be able to purchase from peer to peer privately.

No, this entire report is completely false. FedNow is NOT a CBDC nor a "digital dollar", it is a funds transfer service like the existing ACH and FedWire services.

it would not be devastating to the unbanked. the central bank would become the "only" bank. and everyone would get a bank account at birth with a assigned bank account tied to your ID. every last penny would have a digital ID and the ability to be tracked in real time and for its lifetime. they would know where "your" penny went if someone stole it and who had it. no money could ever be created or destroyed in this system without the federal bank doing it. there would be no such thing as "unbanked" ever again. your ID would be your bank account.

Since bad money drives out the good, CBDC would displace and replace cash over time. It is not hard to imagine that the dollar and CBDC would start out at parity with the dollar being rapidly devalued. Personal debts would be transferred to CBDC while personal assets would be kept in dollars. Government debts would stay in dollars which would be inflated away. It looks like a scheme to eliminate government debts and destroy personal assets.

If congress had any respect for the representative process instead of avoiding the issue they would be debating the creation and use of CBDC and in a functioning system the media would report those debates. I have repeatedly asked every member of the Kentucky congressional delegation if they support or oppose a digital currency and have had no response! In my view programmable digital currency should be forbidden and the use of digital currency should require the lengthy and difficult process of amending the US constitution through the states!

I , like many, am scared at allowing the fed total instant access to MY MONEY. Ie. I had a $500 tax refund coming. The state franchise board took my money with no details as to why. All it said in the letter was I could dispute the attachment. Have you ever tried to get money from any government entity? I once overpaid the VA $100 for dental work. They agreed they owed me and it's been "in the system " for years awaiting approval. I waited 6 yrs to get my VA back pay (which they finally did pay to the tune of $100,000). If they mistakenly take your $$$$j good luck getting it back 😢soon!

1)Guys, take a lesson from China before you believe you have something. In China, a digital currency was introduced. They have capped the maximum amount that can be in bank accounts and given many of the initial beta test roll-outs an expiration date. 2)Since China pioneered the concept of digital currency, the UK, the United States, and Canada are all striving to follow suit. 3)When your money keeps running out at a specific time and day after you just received your paycheck, how are you supposed to conserve money?

I'm wondering besides privacy, security & controlled buying for unwanted behavior concerns, if inflation and/or deflation will be factored automatically ... if say the dollar's market value is really hmm 15 cents per dollar - does the digital currency then recalculate its value in your account - so that say $10, 000.00 would instantly become $1,500? A dollar bill stays a dollar bill even if it buys less, the value of the digital dollar however seems to be what something else decides. And how YOU use your money also something someone else decides.

I work for a bunch of banks and credit unions, and everybody is switching to digital banking. They never specified what the difference is between this and the regular banking.

The biggest advantage of CBDC by the government is that they can create or remove cash without limits at any time on anyone's account. No printing press required. The dollar bill will be obsolete.

On paper, or on computer, you can spend like the government wants you too, using CBDC. Then use bartering for the things you do not want government to know about. Steve Forbes does not want government knowing how he gets out of paying full taxes.
