Unfortunately the law change a lot the last years of what the policy can do and what they can’t do. At least en California the policy CAN NOT do anything unless the university ask them to intervene. All this situation has building up years ago, the protesters first demand was to abolish the policy from universities. If policy act they can be sue. 😢

They have a right to protest but there are University CODES OF conduct that specify where, when and how protests can take place.
